"Who exactly hurt you? Speak, will you? Or is there something that upset you?" Seeing the young lady’s eyes welling up with tears, staring at him. Yan Fei was frantic, he asked several times but received no reply.

"It’s you!" The young lady finally opened her mouth to speak, just when he was about to lose his temper and vent his anger on a nearby tree.

Once she spoke, he was even more baffled: "What did I do wrong?"

Seeing the young lady weeping silently, he realized his mistake and quickly explained, "Actually, I wanted to return but I got held up by some work. Seriously, I didn’t mean to deceive you."

"You lied to me! You told me you finished your work and would come back, but you stayed back at university to meet with someone. I heard everything. You are still trying to deceive me!" She began to sob as she spoke.

Yan Fei was frantically trying to console her, but nothing he said seemed to work. People were starting to stare at their spectacle. Eventually, he decided that honesty was the best policy, "I wasn’t sure this would work! I wanted to try it first and then tell you. Look at this information, do you think it’s feasible?"

"I don’t want to!" The young lady stamped her foot and turned her back on him.

"You really don’t want to? Do you know what this is for? I’ll tell you, don’t get scared!", Noticing she was still not turning to face him, he whispered into her ear and chuckled, "Amazing, isn’t it?! You’ve probably never heard of it before. Look at it. I planned to invest money in it after I returned. If you don’t want to look, what’s the point of my effort?"

Finally, the young lady turned around, seized the documents from his hand, and started to read them.

After a while, she looked up at him with teary eyes and said, "I don’t understand!"

Yan Fei didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Seeing how earnestly the young lady was trying to understand, he thought she would have some useful advice!

After a long chat, the young lady told him why she was angry, "I just wanted to help you when you are busy! When you came to meet someone, I was here, I could’ve helped you inquire. It would’ve been better than you asking around cluelessly. When you go to the magazine office, you don’t know anyone, they would definitely not help you. If our friends go there with their student IDs, they might just help us check directly!"

What she said was true. If the students of Provincial University Law School go to a small magazine office and ask them to search for some contact information on a pretext, the magazine staff would normally help rather than giving students a tough time.

Yan Fei quickly apologized and finally managed to placate her.

With some persuasion, he managed to get her back to her dormitory before curfew. Just before she entered, she emphasized again that he should not conceal anything from her in the future. On the edge of the pool in the cave, four Kronosaurus, one big and three small, were still there.

Their cavalier attitude of making a home in the cave despite past events surprised him. When Yan Fei arrived in his human form, the big Kronosaurus just raised its head to look at him and then lay back down.

The three little ones were apprehensive, still remembering their unpleasant first encounter with him!

The moment Yan Fei flashed a large piece of meat in his hands, the three little ones began to show interest.

Most creatures are quite adorable when they are young. These little ones were no exception. Their brains and necks took up half their body length of three to four meters. Seeing them crawl on the ground was amusing.

Watching the three little Kronosauruses muster the courage to approach and eat the meat, Yan Fei started to snack on some meat as well.

Of course, it wouldn’t do to forget about the guard dogs at the cattle farm.

The three dogs on Vegetable Garden Island were living the good life like pigs every day. Yan Fei was in no hurry to have them experience the human social life, and allowed them to stay in the garden.

Although sometimes they could be annoying, most of the time, when alone and busy at the Vegetable Garden Island, watching those three little ones playing was always relaxing.

Back in the room, ready to sleep, the young lady came to his mind suddenly.

Then he remembered a certain day when the young lady turned into a "temptress" and "interrogated" him. After pondering it a while, he rose and left the house, jumped over the wall.

A pair of scissors appeared out of nowhere, on a rose bush adorned with purple flowers glow, he snipped a few stems.

Upon reaching Vegetable Garden Island, as he was about to plant the rose stems beside the pool, he changed his mind and left with the stems.

After planting the stems in the soil beside the wall, he transformed into a bird and took flight into the sky.

Quietly, he arrived at a large courtyard in the village. It was the darkest hour before dawn. Observing the quiet surroundings, he landed in a small garden within the courtyard.

This was the garden of the Rural Credit Cooperative in town. In the small garden, there were two rose bushes.

These two bushes were not as tall as other roses, and their flowers were smaller, but the petals were more compact, making them look more exquisite than common roses.

Since it didn’t belong to him, Yan Fei didn’t hesitate. As long as he left the roots, they would grow again anyway.

Without wasting any time, he used the scissors and cut the rose bushes from the base, tucked every bit of it into Vegetable Garden Island and flew off quietly.

Coming quietly and leaving without a trace, he was a true flower thief.

Back in his room on the cattle farm, grinning from ear to ear, he entered Vegetable Garden Island. He drove away the three meddling puppies and tidied up the cut stems of the roses before planting them around the pool. He placed some barriers around the plants for protection, warning the three puppies not to mess around it.

Returning to his room, it was almost dawn.

Lying in bed, he kept thinking.

Suppose, just suppose, if someday, he took the young lady to the island and all around them, on the mountains and the plains were blooming red flowers, the young lady would certainly be pleasantly surprised.
