Chapter 276: Chapter 136 Wrong Path_1

Good mood begets good luck.

With a satisfied grin, Yan Fei swung the chunks of Iguanodon meat into the circular lake, keeping an eye out for anything that might be attracted by the stench of blood while chuckling to himself in glee.

The good luck he enjoyed was being unable to sleep and "picking up" half an Iguanodon from the jaws of Terrestrisuchus on Cow Breeding Island. For him, "gaining without effort" occasionally undeniably equated to good luck.

He came up with this method while feeding the giant salamander. Now, he had cast it across several areas around the lake.

The meat morsels radiating a rancid smell did attract certain things, but what came dashed Yan Fei’s hopes — it was the catfish he had thrown into the lake.

Observing these creatures still thriving in the lake, Yan Fei could virtually confirm that there probably weren’t any large terrifying creatures in this lake.

Consequently, a few minutes later, the lake was welcomed by a visitor, at times large, at times small, sometimes a python, sometimes a crocodile, and occasionally a chubby giant salamander.

The reason for the frequent changes was that neither a python nor a crocodile could lurk underwater for a long period. Each morphing saved him the trouble of surfacing for air.

The gloomy lake floor was not completely dark. There scattered casually were stones emitting feeble light glow, rendering the dusky lake floor to resemble the night sky, exceptionally stunning.

Yan Fei forgot whether he studied this in geography or elementary school nature books. Anyway, he did recognize what it was. It should be a luminous stone, which absorbed sunlight during the day and shone at night.

Each glowing stone was surrounded by some peculiar small aquatic life. Some resembled tiny fish, while others were nameless entities.

A fairly populous species of small fish was about the size of a palm. It had a large fin on its back, appeared somewhat green, and swam block-by-block, which was indeed a sight to behold. Another species much larger, the biggest nearly a foot or two long, was also not rare.

This bigger fish with alternating yellow and blue shades was brightly colored and somewhat resembled crucian carp. Its upward-tilting mouth and a pair of small eyes gave an impression of constantly despising Yan Fei, who looked at them.

None of these were dangerous and were ignored by Yan Fei.

As Yan Fei dived deeper, there were fewer and fewer luminous stones, and the light became increasingly dim.

To ensure his safety, Yan Fei stopped advancing deeper into the lake after the light had completely faded. After a casual swim, he finished his exploration and got back onto land.

After spending some time riding his ’ride’, Camarasaurus, along the lakeshore and tending the vegetable garden on the Vegetable Garden Island for a while, looking at the sky indicated it was about time to depart.

As he prepared the food for the girl to wake up, Yan Fei seized the moment when the girl was still drowsy to plant some ardent kisses on her face, leading her to chase him in a huff for a long time.

While eating, the girl’s face was still blushed with shyness. Evidently, she had no idea how she had been bewitched last night. She had come up with such a bad idea that she brought trouble to herself. It seemed that from now on, her face would frequently be ’washed’ by the salivas of the shameless man.

When the girl started practicing yoga with the TV, Yan Fei, during working, discussed the matter of finding additional help with Heizi.

His original intention was that Heizi knew these idlers who would wander around all day doing nothing. They were all in their prime and any one of them could do physical labor.

As soon as Heizi heard this, he immediately rolled his eyes and retorted, "You mean those guys? Even they can’t catch up with the dogs chasing rabbits. They only know how to have fun once they’re full. What work can they do? I strongly object to getting them here. They’re a group of people who refuse to work properly. They can’t do any work."

His voice was quite loud, which bewildered Ma Chao and Old Cheng as they cast strange looks at Heizi. Even Yan Fei did the same.

Lin Yumei could not help but cover her mouth and giggle secretly.

Feeling uncomfortable being stared at by several people, Heizi timidly said, "Why are you all looking at me? If they don’t work here, wouldn’t I have to work more?"

Ma Chao finally burst into laughter, "Why do I feel that the guys you’re talking about are exactly how you used to be?"

Heizi sullenly retorted, "Do I?"

The crowd laughed even more, "Yes, you were even worse than them before. You used to gamble, it’s even worse than idling all day!"

This statement made Heizi even more depressed. Now he no longer thought about gambling, so everyone didn’t mind making a joke of it occasionally.

Even Old Cheng laughed, "You’re just like a maggot that has crawled out of its cocoon and hasn’t flown for a few days! You’re already looking down on your former companions!"

After considering Old Cheng’s words, Heizi felt nauseated, "Old head, I’ll throw cattle dung into the house tonight! Are you treating me like a fly?"

Seeing that they had stopped laughing, Yan Fei continued to ask him, "So do you have any suitable candidates to introduce? The ones who you think can work? If not, just find someone random to do the job. Maybe they’ll end up like you, reforming and becoming virtuous!"

Heizi twisted his face, "I’m not happy to hear that! What do you mean by reforming and becoming virtuous? I was just temporarily lost, you know?"

Lin Yumei expressed her bewilderment, "How come I’ve only heard of being led astray and never heard of getting temporarily lost?"

This time, noone laughed as everyone waited for Heizi’s explanation.

Heizi’s talent in arguing didn’t develop in a day or two. Angrily saying, "You all enjoy making fun of me! Aren’t you guys addicted to bullying me, an honest person? What’s so different between getting led astray and getting temporarily lost?"

Yan Fei interrupted him, "Enough, just say it! Do you have any suitable candidates or not?"

If they let this guy continue his convoluted and bizarre arguments, they probably wouldn’t be able to discuss real matters this morning.

"Hehe!" Heizi grinned arrogantly. "I can actually find someone who doesn’t mind getting dirty or tired, swallowing any hardship silently, only being ordered around by me in the future, never talking back, and most importantly, never making fun of me."

Yan Fei didn’t bother to pay attention to him. This man had to halt his speech from time to time or he would end up suffocating. Yan Fei impatiently said, "Speak!"

"Gao Bin!" Heizi spit out two words with a smug look on his face, remaining silent afterwards.

Yan Fei gave him a glare. As he was about to ask who this Gao Bin was, Ma Chao nearby was stunned for a moment, before bursting into hearty laughter.

Everyone else was confused by his laughter, and Heizi was the only one whose proud face was practically touching the sky!
