"If the deal doesn’t go through, it’s okay, there will be other opportunities. We’re in no rush, and it’s not like we need the money." Seeing Xu Xiaoyan walking listlessly from the teacher’s office, Yan Fei took a couple of quick steps to meet her and comforted her.

Just from looking at her dispirited expression, he could tell that her meeting at the teacher’s office had not yielded any positive results.

"Yes, not only this school, the other schools also won’t cooperate." Xu Xiaoyan sighed heavily. "Our teacher said that these schools in the county town purchase everything in a unified manner from the County Education Bureau. Only the schools in the villages and towns are free to buy their own supplies."

"Alright, if we can’t sell it, we can’t sell it. Here, let me take that sample." Yan Fei said, taking the ’sample’ from Xu Xiaoyan who was just carrying it into the office.

After leaving the school and walking along the small road for a bit, Xu Xiaoyan suddenly regained her spirit and said, "No, I must sell all our paper. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, I simply refuse to believe that I can’t find a way out!"

Yan Fei pondered for a moment and said, "How about we go home for lunch and I can ask my dad if he knows anyone? It’s a small county town after all, he might know some people."

"No, I said I will do this by myself... Alright! You can ask, I doubt I can come up with a solid plan before the school starts." The girl initially intended to muster some encouraging words, but she failed to think of any and lost her energy.

And it made sense. As a girl who had spent her entire life in school without any social experience, what good idea could she possibly have?

"Why don’t you tell my dad and consider it something you accomplished yourself; even seeking help counts as doing it yourself! Just like when you sought Teacher Chang’s help." Yan Fei proposed a bad idea.

"Humph! I would never resort to such self-deception!" Xu Xiaoyan glared at him and strode forward determinedly.

After a few steps, she stopped and turned to ask him, "So where are we going now?"

"We’ll head home and drop off the paper first. They are probably still at work. We can leave the stuff and then go shopping. I also want to ask Fifth Brother a question and then we can go splurge." Yan Fei paused, put down the paper he was holding, "I’ll head to the little grove over there to relieve myself, you watch the paper for a moment."

"Go ahead!" The girl waved at him.

A while later, Yan Fei returned and said, "Let’s go."

The girl wondered, "Why so quick..."

Yan Fei just smiled and didn’t say anything.

He just remembered that since his parents were away at work, there was no one to open the door for him. The key that his parents had given him to prevent him from being locked out once he arrived in the county town, he had left it on Vegetable Garden Island. He had used needing to go to the little grove as an excuse to retrieve it.

After leaving the papers at home and stepping out, Xu Xiaoyan asked Yan Fei, "What are you planning to ask Fifth Brother?"

Yan Fei revealed his plan, "I want to sell the motorcycle I’ve been riding. I heard from Pang Fa and the others that the motorcycle I put together is quite valuable. I personally don’t have much use for it. Soon, you won’t be at home and I probably won’t need it either. Might as well sell it."

"Oh, what about when you go to school?"

"I can either get a bicycle for commuting to school, or I can just walk! The motorcycle was obtained in a shady way, it’s too conspicuous. I think I need to keep a lower profile!"

"Haha, Yan Xiaofei, you’re hilarious. You know to keep a low profile now!"

Surprisingly, Yan Fei felt awkward under her laughter.

He truly felt that he had been drawing too much attention to himself.

So a second-hand motorcycle, which had hardly ever been ridden, would surely attract many potential buyers.

As for the license plate being discarded and the motorcycle itself being illegitimately obtained, those were just minor issues.

In this era, the streets were crowded with motorcycles without license plates. Only Yan Fei, being overly careful, was seldom seen riding his. People in the county town were not so particular, they just wanted to get from one place to another.

After agreeing to help, Fifth Brother’s next question made Yan Fei pause, "Xiao Fei, have you heard about the Straw Hat Hero appearing on our road to the Provincial City?"

"What Straw Hat Hero?" Yan Fei asked though suspected that the issue probably had something to do with him.

Indeed, Fifth Brother’s next words confirmed his suspicion, "Recently, there is a person out there beating up thieves everywhere he sees them on our road to Provincial City. After beating them, he puts a sign on them saying I’m a thief or something. Claims that this road will no longer tolerate thieves. Haven’t you heard about it?"

"No!" Yan Fei quickly denied.

He was telling the truth, he hadn’t heard about it. Even though he was the one doing those things, no one had ever come to tell him specifically about it.

But even if he denied it, the girl at his side had grasped some connection.

Upon hearing that thieves were beaten and hung up with a sign reading I’m a thief, Xu Xiaoyan was initially stunned but she began to gaze at him suspiciously.

"Strange things are happening these days! Someone is killing in public, executing thieves at night, and now someone is hitting the thieves on the road. The name of the Straw Hat Hero is really buzzing these days, everyone is talking about it. Don’t know who this person is? Heard he is quite young! Maybe he is another handsome hero!" Fifth sister in law commented dreamily when she heard about the heroes.

It seemed that this very pregnant woman still harbored dreams of a youthful hero!
