Chapter 250: Chapter 110 Threat - The Coming Person_1
Observing the scrambling women and old men assisting the weakly groaning girl on the ground, Yan Fei turned to look at the crowd in the courtyard.
He then shouted, "Everyone get in the car quickly! Stop lingering around! Remember, none of you have seen me, and be careful not to bump into me in the future if any of you still remember me after you leave this courtyard!"
After shouting a few times, some people finally started to slowly move towards the buses, cautiously avoiding the injured individuals in the middle of the scene.
Yan Fei had a simple thought: he attacked these people because they are bad people. Though he may have been a bit harsh, he was in the right. Couldn’t this still count as a righteous act?
As for pursuing the issue of his violent behavior, the police station has to prove it. As long as the passengers dare not testify, who can prove that he was the one who beat these people?
To avoid trouble, scaring these people a bit caused Yan Fei no moral burden. The bad guys he beat could act arrogantly, stealing people’s money in broad daylight, and even beat people up. None of the crowd stepped forward to speak up for justice. Why couldn’t he, the one who fought against the bad guys, be a little arrogant?
These people, whether they’re afraid of trouble or lack courage, are inherently weak and timid. Given this, he didn’t mind giving them another scare.
Having an uncle who is a deputy director of a police station did come in handy, hanging out with Dang Wenzheng and Xiang Changqing on patrol for a few days was not in vain. He heard a lot during casual chats, including the importance of evidence, which came in handy now.
While thinking this, he caught sight of a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye. The figure of Green Dragon on the left and White Tiger on the right was too noticeable. Wasn’t it the warm-hearted fatty he’d been talking with the whole time?
Thinking back to when he first got on the bus, he purposefully sat next to the fatty, mistaking him as a bad guy. Fortunately, the guy was able to resist temptation, otherwise, he would’ve made a mistake. With this thought in mind, Yan Fei called out, "Hey, fatty, come over here and try this chicken leg? This braised meat is also pretty good, why won’t you give it a try?"
Misfortune comes on wings and departs on foot. Luck comes and goes in the blink of an eye.
Whispering this proverbial saying to himself, Laosan waited until the crowd had left the restaurant before he quietly slipped out along the wall.
Remembering how he treated the guy causing utter mayhem outside on the road as a ’reckless youth’, imparting his so-called wisdom on him all the way, and even referring to himself as the guy’s elder brother, Laosan wanted to slap himself in the face.
How did he end up meeting such a person? He even bragged about his shrewd eyes, immediately recognizing this guy as a law-abiding citizen at first glance. But thinking about the ’law-abiding’ guy’s reason for going outside to fight - not wanting his wife to be disrespected - he thought he might as well go blind!
When he first bumped into the guy, the way the guy glared at him should have made him alert. That gaze was kind of creepy. But he didn’t think much of it at the time and hadn’t seen the guy glaring at anyone since, so he became careless.
What a careless mistake indeed!
If anything were to happen, others would see that he had been speaking with the guy all the way. This would be troublesome! Who knows what kind of person this guy is, what if he is involved in a big case?
Thinking about this while sneaking along the wall, he prayed inside his heart that the guy wouldn’t see him, but then he heard the guy inviting him to eat a chicken leg.
At this point, Laosan broke into a cold sweat.
Glancing around to see that no one was paying attention to him, he hurried to put on a smile and said, "I won’t eat anymore, I won’t eat anymore, I’ve already eaten a bit too much!"
Noting his cautious demeanor, Yan Fei instantly lost interest and no longer wished to chat. Just then, he heard footsteps behind him, followed by someone calling out, "Reporting in!"
Reporting in? Yan Fei couldn’t help but let out a laugh at the absurdity. He turned around to see three people carefully observing him: "What’s the matter?"
These three were car passengers. Seeing Yan Fei’s expressionless face left them a bit flustered. One of them said, "When we got off the bus, the doors were locked. Can we go open the bus doors?"
On hearing this, Yan Fei noticed that, indeed, the passengers standing near the bus were all waiting as none of them dared call for the bus doors to be opened.
He immediately waved his hand saying, "Go ahead! Let people get on the bus quickly!"
The three of them looked relieved and turned to leave, but he added, "Wait. Get a piece of paper and write down your license plate numbers. In case anyone reports me for assault, I will know who to find, won’t I?"
At this, the three hesitated, showing clear unease. But they had to bow their heads under the eaves. After thinking for a moment, they nodded in agreement and left to open the bus doors.
In reality, Yan Fei didn’t need them to write it down, he could see the license plate numbers from where he stood. Asking them to write it down was just to remind them that he had noted the license plate numbers.
After instructing them, he continued eating.
Pang Laosan, who had been ’forgotten’, slipped quietly into the crowd and did not dare to glance this way.
Although the fatty was a bit small, he made a valid point: this place was indeed the ’Lawless Area’, a desolate countryside where no one cares.
Even if someone did care, they would first have to know what happened here.
This courtyard wasn’t directly on the main road, so people on the road couldn’t see what was happening in the courtyard. As of now, only the messenger had fled from the courtyard. Besides, there were no telephones here, so he didn’t have to worry about police officers coming.
Soon, the license plate numbers were copied onto paper and handed over. Yan Fei, without even looking at it, stuffed it into his pocket. Then he said to those who brought the slips of paper "Tell those people with you not to call anymore, and let them know, once they leave this place, they should forget me immediately. If anyone remembers me and I get into trouble as a result, well, you can imagine the consequences. Go on, go!"
The threat worked well, these people were very obedient.
When all the passengers were seated, even the man with a broken leg was carried onto the bus. As this bus left, another bus came wanting to enter. People from the bus that was leaving stopped the incoming one, not mentioning anything about the courtyard, only saying that they were out of food for the day and told them to go elsewhere.
Standing under the canopy, Yan Fei’s keen ears heard everything clearly, but he didn’t make much of it.
No matter if they spoke or not, he would be leaving soon anyways. If they dared, they could chase him for hundreds of miles.
Feeling that eating while walking was too inconvenient, he scooped up all the food he was interested in, along with some of the pastries he had just tasted. Other than the unappetizing rice and two types of vegetables he didn’t like, he had moved everything else to one place.
Just as he sat down in the center and took a few bites, he heard the sound of a tractor and people’s voices from the highway outside.
At last, someone was coming!
