Chapter 248: Chapter 108 Helper at the Car Boat Shop_1

By the national highway, there stood a shabby restaurant courtyard.

No one in the yard dared to take a deep breath anymore; even those who were crying out in agony were subconsciously suppressing their voices, as long as they still had awareness.

All eyes were on the long blade that a young man in the courtyard was holding up with one hand.

It was a genuine little Jap-killing knife. Perhaps it had once beheaded innocent people, and those who resist. But in the end, it was likely that the former owner of this knife also had his head chopped off.

The blade, which once drank copious amounts of fresh blood, was still as shiny as ever, seemingly untouched by the decades. Barring a few small notches, maybe left behind when it was used to decapitate someone.

And now, the knife was raised again, ready to behead someone who brought shame upon their ancestors.

Some women in the crowd had subconsciously covered their children’s eyes. Others turned or bowed their heads away, unable to watch the scene about to take place.

Perhaps some took pleasure in witnessing punishment meted out to wrongdoers. But at this moment, these ordinary people couldn’t bear to watch the sight of someone about to be killed.

No one doubted that the young man with the knife would dare to execute his action. How often does one witness a sight of twenty or so men turned into cripples? And to see the person responsible for this remain calm, one could imagine the strength of his character. What would he not dare to do?

"Brother, hold on... cough, cough, cough..."

Just as Yan Fei was about to bring down his long knife, a middle-aged man’s voice rang out, followed by a series of coughs that left him gasping for breath.

Yan Fei turned his head. It was the thug he had kicked out soon after, who was now looking at him, covered in sweat.

"Brother, we didn’t show respect, but the crime doesn’t warrant death!" the man said, and tried to stand up, though he failed to do so, and ultimately chose to sit on the ground, holding his chest and coughing.

This was the reason why none of these men could resist or even dodge when Yan Fei was roaming around the field and breaking their limbs. They couldn’t even crawl away to escape.

Whether kicked down or whipped down with his spear, they fell seemingly unhurt, but were, in fact, unable to get up. The ones who were lucky were those slapped unconscious; their consciousness was unclear—once they regained consciousness, they might well be relegated to a diet of tofu and pig blood.

Listening to him speak, Yan Fei hesitated.

"Right, right, the crime doesn’t warrant death..."

"His ancestors genuinely fought the Jap devils. He is the only one left in his generation. If he dies, the family line would be severed..."

"We were wrong, but we haven’t killed anyone..."

Some of the people lying there regained some awareness and started to beg for mercy.

Normally these people were not saints, but no matter who it was, nobody wanted to die early, did they?

Their men were beaten to the ground, and of course, they bore grudges, perhaps even planning future revenge. But now, watching this young man’s temper being ignited by a few words and preparing to decapitate someone, who had the mind to nurse grudges or plan future actions?

Rather, there was a sense of worry. What if this young man got carried away and started decapitating people left, right and center? Even if they were eventually given canon charges, wouldn’t they be dead and thus be incapable of seeing it from Yama’s Palace?

"Please...spare me."

Yan Fei looked down at the person below his knife who had finally found the courage to beg for mercy.

"Ah...nevermind!" Seeing the desperate and pleading eyes of the man, Yan Fei muttered and stood up, somewhat dispirited. Seeming somewhat reluctant, he glanced at his long knife, and then held the hilt with his left hand.

"Clang..."

With a crisp sound, the knife was broken into two pieces. He tossed the broken blade aside and asked, "Just now I saw the man from the restroom run out to call for reinforcements. Will there be more of you coming? If so, I better wait!"

Without waiting for an answer, he walked towards the three parked cars. He approached the accompanying crew who moments ago were impatiently driving away the middle-aged woman and the old man.

They were already shocked and trembling. Seeing him come over, one of them blurted out subconsciously, "What do you want? We are passengers and have nothing to do with them!"

"I am here to slap you!" Yan Fei disregarded his words and directed his orders at the two men. "You two start slapping each other until I ask you to stop, be fast!"

The two looked at each other in astonishment. They were used to bullying lower-class passengers and were always arrogant. Suddenly they were ordered to slap each other. They were embarrassed in front of a full courtyard. There was no way they would obey.

One found the courage to speak out, "You better think twice! We are not these common folks. We are almost in Provincial City..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a muffled groan. He was sent flying backward and hit the side of the vehicle with a loud thud.

Yan Fei took a step forward, stepped on his leg, and made him scream in pain.

"slap...slap..."

Turning his head, he saw the other man slapping himself as hard as he could in the face. After several slaps, his face was red and swollen.

"Stop for a while, call out the drivers and the accompanying crew from those few cars first..." Yan Fei ordered him after watching him slap himself several times.

"What?" The man was dazed from his slaps, and it took him a moment to grasp the meaning of Yan Fei’s words.

"Didn’t you understand me? Call out the crew and the drivers from the cars." Yan Fei glared at him and repeated his order.

With Yan Fei’s glaring look, the man came to his senses, turned around, and hurriedly rushed towards the direction of the vehicles.

Yan Fei didn’t wait for him. He turned his head and walked back towards the restaurant side. There were still some women, two old men, and the girl who refused to eat and board the bus.

Seeing him come over, they were all scared, their legs buckled, and they didn’t even have the strength to retreat. Only the girl in the front who watched him come slowly, suddenly screamed loudly, "What more do you want from us, you butcher? Are you not even going to let us go?"
