Chapter 245: Chapter 105: Afraid the Daughter-in-law Might Disapprove_1
Yan Fei was eating and not paying attention to the noise outside. With his acute hearing, he would go crazy from sensory overload, if he listened to everything. Upon hearing what Pang Laosan said, he couldn’t help but pay attention to the sounds from outside. His superhuman hearing instantly caught the external noises.
Firstly, a middle-aged woman’s voice came, "Brother, look carefully. I genuinely gave you a dime, it’s two cents to use the restroom, so you should give me nine dimes and eight cents. You have only given me eight cents. You still owe me nine dimes."
Then a young man’s voice rang out, "I saw it very clearly, you only gave me a penny, when did it become a dime? Look at the money in my hand, do I have a dime?"
The middle-aged woman’s voice sounded again, "You put it in your pocket when you received it. Have you forgotten?"
The young man’s voice immediately grew much louder, "Did I forget, or is it that you can’t remember? I didn’t receive a dime. You’re here to scam, aren’t you?"
Hearing that she was being accused of fraud, the middle-aged woman’s voice became frantic, "It was really a dime. Big brother, when I gave it to you, you said you didn’t have enough change and would give me the change when I came out. You put it in your pocket, don’t you believe it? Don’t you want to rummage through and check?"
The young man scoffed, "Who doesn’t put some money in their pocket? This is entirely my money, even if I show you my money, now. Can your penny turn into a dime? Get lost, stop causing trouble, so many people are waiting to use the bathroom."
Yan Fei was eating and listening. The arguing continued, it was clear, however, that the woman was in the weaker position and was only desperately pleading while the young man was apathetic.
"Doesn’t anyone interfere?" Yan Fei held a steamed bun, took a bite, then enjoyed its taste while examining what was inside.
"Who would intervene? The selling point of this place is that it’s a lawless area in the wilderness. Moreover, it’s just a little matter, at most, it’s about a few hundred dollars. Without evidence caught at the scene, it’s difficult for anyone to intervene." Pang Laosan explained softly while eating his food.
The woman outside was now crying. She was begging others to stand as her witness to get back her nine dimes. Whether nine dimes was a lot or not depended on the individual. This wasn’t a festive time, so no one was willing to come out and travel a long distance.
Pang Laosan, seeing an opportunity, shared his wisdom with Yan Fei, "No one would dare to interfere. These people are all locals. Soon, they could gather half the village. Look at all these people. Who would dare to say a word?"
"Is your restaurant a gangster inn? People come here from far away with money to treat the sick. Are you trying to take advantage of others in misfortunes, don’t you have a conscience?" Before Pang Laosan could finish speaking, he heard a righteous voice of an old man from outside, and his face turned unnatural.
"Who said we are a gangster inn? Old man, did you see her give me the money? Why are you interfering? What’s the matter? You want to rely on your old arms and legs? Don’t you see where this is? You must be bored with your life..." The young man saw someone standing up for the right, and his voice instantly rose.
"She said that the dime she gave has a chip out of it. If you dare to take out what’s in your pocket, we’ll know if..." "Ah...you even hit people, still claim this isn’t a gangster inn, ah..." The old man didn’t say much before getting into trouble. It seemed like he slapped someone.
"Why are all of you standing there? The old man is sightless, and are all of you also sightless? Little Ni’er, usher them in to eat. Whoever does not eat will not be allowed to board the bus later. Why would you come to the restaurant without eating..." The young man’s voice rang out again.
Then a young girl ran over, pointing at the crowd around, "Hurry up and eat, finish eating and board the bus. Do you all hear that? Whoever does not eat, do not plan to get on the bus later. Hurry up and go, what are you all looking at..."
The noise outside continued, but most of it was the sound of people from the restaurant, hurrying the old man and middle-aged woman away. The old man still tried to argue, but then a few more cries were heard, and it seemed he had been hit again.
"Look, little brother, this is no ordinary outing. Try to stay out of matters. It’s better not to meddle in affairs that you shouldn’t, it’s just a matter of a few dollars. Who suffers from getting hit? Isn’t it your own body? Isn’t it?" At the small table, Pang Laosan began his incessant chatter again. "There are too many unfair things, but who would interfere? The capable ones are not scammed for those few dollars, are they?"
Yan Fei finished the porridge in his bowl in one gulp, then casually picked up a fried dough stick, "You’re right, there are a lot of things which are bothersome."
By this time, the people in the restaurant eating were whispering among themselves. Just like Pang Laosan said, many were unhappy, but none of them dared to intervene. Some who had been standing outside were ushered in by the young woman to eat after taking out their money.
Who would want to be targeted later and not be allowed to board the bus?
Yan Fei said that sentence and then got up, took a bite of the fried dough stick and prepared to walk outside.
"Hey brother, sit down, you can’t interfere with this. It’s their territory! The powerful dragon does not suppress the local snake! It has nothing to do with us, just act as if we didn’t see it..." Seeing the reckless youth’s displeased face on getting up, Pang Laosan who was worried of getting into trouble, hurriedly whispered to him.
However, the reckless-looking man in his eyes kicked the stool away, muttered something like, "It didn’t involve me, but I’m afraid my wife won’t tolerate it..."
Having said that, he walked towards the outside.
The whimpering middle-aged woman outside and the old man who kept arguing while occasionally getting hit, were being cursed and beaten by two or three young men, and forcibly kicked towards the three passenger buses.
Originally, many people who had finished their meals and were waiting to board the bus stood between the two earlier buses. Seeing them coming over with cursing and hitting, everyone retreated on both sides out of fear that standing close might bring trouble upon them.
Due to this, two men standing at the entrance door smoking were revealed.
The middle-aged woman and the old man who were being hit and pushed stumbled upon seeing these two men. Their eyes lit up, and they rushed over to plead for help.
From what they were saying, these two men were staff accompanying on the two buses. The middle-aged woman and old man apparently were hoping that because they were their passengers, they could help voice some justice.
