Chapter 170: Chapter 46 Dumplings in the Pond (Various Requests for Votes)_1

Thoughtful by Yan Fei’s greeting, the group was puzzled: It was the first time they had ever encountered something like this! No one had ever greeted them like that before; didn’t Yan Fei know what they intended to do?

Although they were taken aback, these guys weren’t scared; they had numbers on their side!

Still, they sauntered carelessly over; anyone could tell they were bad news just from how they walked: a collective swagger that made it clear they thought they were king of the world.

"What’s up, fellas? Make a fortune selling cattle and want to give us a taste," asked the head of the motley crew, a young man with a side-parted hairstyle, as he addressed Yan Fei’s trio.

Yan Fei wasn’t interested in small talk. A few words were enough to figure out their intentions. So, he strode a few steps forward and lunged at them.

"Ah, wanna fight, huh..." the side-parted leader let out a strange cry, preparing his crew for battle.

But before they could even get into formation, they found themselves flying through the air.

Then, one after another, they splashed into a big pond, followed quickly by the sound of a huge splash.

It didn’t stop there. plop, plop, plop... One after the other, like big dumplings dropped into a pot, the would-be troublemakers found themselves all in the pond.

They were taken aback.

Both Heizi and Xu Xiaoyan were ready for a good fight. Especially Heizi – the moment Yan Fei had taken a stand, he had saddled the cattle off onto Xu Xiaoyan and was all geared up to join Yan Fei shoulder to shoulder in the brawl of his dreams.

But before they could even join the fray, Yan Fei had finished it – dusting his hands and leisurely strolling back their way.

The tough guys in the pond were flabbergasted. Suddenly, they were wet and heavy with sodden clothes. Some of them must’ve swallowed a mouthful or two of pond water, as two of them, who seemingly couldn’t swim, were crying out for help.

Their comrades snapped out of their daze and hurriedly pulled the non-swimmers out of the pond.

Xu Xiaoyan was grinning like a fool at Yan Fei, basking in the glory as though she had been the one beating those ruffians, not saying a word, just beaming at Yan Fei.

Yan Fei quite enjoyed the attention from Xu Xiaoyan. "How was that? I told you we’d be fine. My dumpling dropping skills are not bad, huh?"

"Mmm...good," Xu Xiaoyan nodded emphatically in response.

At this point, the guys in the pond were still trying to paddle to the shore!

No one knew what this big pond was for. It had been dug quite deep. Struggling in their wet and heavy clothes, they were cursing and yelling all sorts of threats while paddling towards the shore.

Yan Fei was enjoying himself too much to pay attention to their squawking. However, some of them caught his attention when they started hurling abusive and foul obscenities at Xu Xiaoyan.

Yan Fei turned livid!

He stormed over to the embankment and gave the loudest punk, who had managed to scrabble ashore, a thrust and a shove, which sent him flying back into the pond.

Suddenly, all was quiet. Only the sound of water remained; nobody dared to utter another word.

Looking at the ruffians flailing in the water, Yan Fei said with a cold smile, "Thank your lucky stars! Consider yourselves lucky that this isn’t a cesspit!"

He turned around to leave but then pointed at the loudest punk from before and warned, "Remember, loose lips sink ships. If you keep shooting your mouth off, I doubt you’ll get another chance to experience the ’five-fold bombing.’"

Ignoring their reactions, he continued on his way.

"What does this have to do with a cesspit? And what’s the ’five-fold bombing’?" the still bewildered Heizi, ruing his lost chance at a fight, mumbled to himself.

Yan Fei was already busy talking and laughing with Xu Xiaoyan, he had no time to bother with him.

Only after Yan Fei and his men had left did the hooligans in the pond finally climb back ashore. One of the hooligans turned around, cursing in the direction they left: "Damn it, I...."

Before he could finish, a small gang leader next to him slapped him and whispered angrily, "Shut the hell up!".

The hooligan was bothered, thinking, everyone’s gone, can’t I say a word? He asked puzzled, "What’s up, bro?"

The small gang leader with a side-parted hairstyle looked annoyed and frightened, "Just shut the hell up, I’m pissed."

The eerie, sullen look made the other hooligans fall silent, wringing the water out of their clothes.

It’s summer and the clothes are thin, but the pond is big. They simply walked around the pit to a place far from the road, took off their clothes, wrung out the water, and hung them up to dry.

Finally, one of the hooligans couldn’t help but whisper to another, "Duck, I remember you won five straight rounds of cards, the night Third Brother died..."

The side-parted gang leader who had just hit someone glared furiously at the one asking the question. The hooligan called "Duck" shivered as if he had been bitten by a poisonous snake, and stammered angrily, "Just stop asking...."

This hooligan who was called "Duck" had the loudest voice when he was swearing just now. Yan Fei pointed at him while speaking. His voice was really unique, just like that of a male duck, no wonder people called him Duck!

The other hooligans, seeing them all silent, were all clueless about what had happened. They didn’t dare to speak. They all sat by the pond stark naked, staring blankly at the shimmering water in the pond.

Yan Fei also heard one of them curse Xu Xiaoyan, which got him really upset and drove him to make those remarks.

But once he said it, there was no point regretting it. As long as he didn’t admit it, nobody could do a thing. He was not afraid that the group would speculate something. Once he said it, he acted as if nothing had happened.

He recognized the voice of that "duck-voiced" guy instantly. He was one of the hooligans playing cards in Zhang Laosan’s courtyard that night.

It’s not surprising at all. The hooligans were all territorial. There was probably only one such gang in Cattle Market. Now, even without Zhang Laosan, these hooligans would still be them, lingering around here, which was pretty normal.

All these hooligans wouldn’t dare to commit a serious crime. Seeing that Yan Fei and the others had so much money from selling the bull, they just followed to see if there was any opportunity, to set a trap or something, to cheat some money to spend. If they dared to blatantly rob, that would be overestimating them.

That’s why Yan Fei always controlled the force of his blows, even the last one was just pushing them into the water instead of a Yi Jiao Chuai flying kick — he was afraid of not controlling his strength, afraid of accidentally kicking someone to death again.

Now Heizi and Xu Xiaoyan have found common language. They are praising Yan Fei respectively!

Heizi was easy to ignore, his flattery was too blatant and tasteless, that Yan Fei disregarded. But the admiration in Xu Xiaoyan’s eyes made Yan Fei quite elated.

Heizi was still muttering, "Throwing them into the water was too lenient. It’s not even winter. We should have broken two legs of each person...."

Yan Fei pretended to say, "They are just some hooligans. Why should we be so brutal? Just teaching them a lesson will do."

"Exactly." Xu Xiaoyan agreed, sending an even more admiring look to Yan Fei, and gave Heizi a contemptuous look. "Why are you so malicious? Just teaching them a lesson is enough. If we disable them, we will get ourselves into trouble."

"Yeah, show mercy whenever possible!" Yan Fei nodded pretendingly, trying his best to act calm in front of the girl.

When he said that, he certainly hadn’t thought too much. Like those two disabled men in prison who didn’t dare to breathe heavily, and who suffered every day cursing someone for being so cruel. Some small hooligans in the city whose injuries have not fully healed since the New Year. The Zhang brothers who are still crying underground. A mental patient who, whenever he hears someone speaking loudly, is scared like a quail and hides under the bed and does not dare to see people.....

Luckily, nobody knows all the things Yan Fei has done in the past. In order to show off in front of the girl, he really had no face left, actually saying things like "show mercy whenever possible".

As for Heizi at this time, he could only be helpless. Who asked them to be a couple! But the endless contempt in his heart has already drowned a little man named Yan Fei countless times...
