"You don’t need to worry about it, we will find someone to negotiate after going back in a few days. How much can he ask for? We still have to support Xiao Xing’s studies!" Yanfei’s father began to speak, "This is an important matter, it should be us who raise it, showing our respect to them, right? And you, how did you address Xiao Xing’s Dad just now? Can you address him as Old Xu? If he heard that, any possible agreement would be ruined!"

"He is Old Xu, that old man is always annoying, didn’t you know that when you were his neighbor for so many years? And you still blame our Xiao Fei for being rude to him?" Yanfei’s mom immediately sided with her son.

"I just don’t want Xiao Fei to form this kind of habit, which he cannot correct in the future. Even for Xiao Xing’s sake, shouldn’t we stop addressing him like this?" Yanfei’s father argued.

"Yes, yes, yes, Xiao Fei shouldn’t address him like that in the future..." Yanfei’s mom swiftly changed her stance. She was already concerned about her future daughter-in-law even though she had not officially joined the family, fearing that her son would embarrass his wife in future.

Although Yan Fei kept insisting that he wanted to be "self-reliant" and settle things between himself and Xu Xiaoyan, his parents were surprisingly united and determined about this issue. In the end, the three of them couldn’t reach an agreement and decided to wait until classmate Xu Xing had declared his college choices.

In between this, Yanfei’s father suggested that during the application process, ratings should be ranked low to high, with the least preferred being the local college.

Originally, he wanted to discuss what the case would be if the exam doesn’t go well, or even if he fails the exam, but both Yanfei’s mom and Yan Fei disagreed with discussing such issues, so he had to keep quiet.

Helpless, the daughter-in-law hadn’t even entered the door yet, but his wife and son had already "betrayed" him. Yanfei’s father couldn’t even express a bit of dissatisfaction.

Despite the minor disagreement, the overall direction was right, and Yan Fei was quite satisfied.

Yan Fei hopped onto his motorcycle and headed towards the cattle farm.

His parents certainly didn’t want him to leave. Still, he insisted, there were things to do tomorrow, and he was planning to sell some cattle, so he had to get up early and had to rush back.

It was almost midnight when Yan Fei returned to the cattle farm. Everyone in the cattle yard was asleep. Yan Fei hurriedly called out to Xiaohei, telling him to get up early the next day and go to the county to sell cows.

Xiaohei was in deep sleep, but when he was awakened and heard Yan Fei mentioning such an important matter like selling cows, he immediately agreed.

After Yan Fei left, he lay back in bed, closed his eyes to sleep, then opened them, sat up and yelled, "Xiao Fei, you’re such a jerk! You couldn’t come and call me in the morning?"

Heizi only dared to shout such angrily after thinking Yan Fei was far away, not knowing his loud voice was enough for Yan Fei to hear.

However, Yan Fei didn’t have time to argue with Heizi now, he was secretly amused!

He had already said to Yanfei during the day that he was going to sell cows, but only remembered to tell Heizi now.

Also, there was no need to remind Xiaohei to wake up early. They were living in the same courtyard; he could just wake up a little early the next day to call him. Over-excited at the news, he disturbed him in the middle of the night to convey this, which was entirely unnecessary!

It’s usually tough to fall asleep in the summer nights, coupled with mosquitoes in the cow farm. Even under the protection of a mosquito net, being woken up just after falling asleep would make anyone grouchy!

Still smirking to himself, Yan Fei went on his routine patrol, but decided to call it an early night and get enough rest so he can accompany his lady to fill out her college preference form!

He actually only slept for a short while before getting up and preparing breakfast in the kitchen. By then, Ma Chao had already arrived—these days they were selling pigs, Ma Chao would come quite early.

Together with Ma Chao, he called Heizi while tying up the pigs and told him to take the four cows ready for sale to the county town first.

Heizi was not happy: "Why do I have to go alone?"

"My wife is filling out her college preferences today! We’ll go by car, but since you’re with the cows, you can’t ride a car, so you should walk slowly over. When you get to the cattle market, just wait for us. We’ll come find you once we’ve finished," Yan Fei explained to him.

"The two of you ride a car, and I have to walk? And wait for you guys before selling? Well... I guess I’m just unlucky. Whatever you say goes!" Heizi was pretty pissed off at first, but seeing that Yan Fei left him no other options, and considering the strength of a man who could handle pigs with one hand, he had no choice but to accept his fate.

Meanwhile, Ma Chao, who was enjoying the drama, nudged Yan Fei: "Do you plan to sell all the pigs? Aren’t you going to keep one as a backup?"

"Oh yes, when the engagement is settled, we’ll have to host a celebration feast. We should retain one pig and slaughter it later. Let’s restrain one less now," Yan Fei said as if he just realized something.

"Engagement? I mean, Xu Xing just finished her college exams, don’t you plan to throw a celebration when her admission letter arrives?" Ma Chao was confused again.

"Oh oh oh, then let’s reserve two."

Great, only one pig was left for selling now. It seemed that the Slaughter Pig Station would have to slaughter those big fat pigs they had bought from the farmers.

After hurrying to finish their work, Yan Fei told Heizi to eat and then leave soon, before hopping on his motorcycle to pick up Xu Xiaoyan.

Before he even reached their agreed location, he spotted the girl slowly walking in his direction.

Once the girl climbed onto the motorcycle, Yan Fei learned that she had been telling fibs again. She was thinking about selling the cows and was worried she might not make it in time, so she had left the house early in the morning without having breakfast, telling her family that she was going to meet a friend.

Yan Fei told Xiaoyan not to be in such a hurry, as he had already asked Heizi to eat quickly and lead the cows away early, and that they could take a car later after breakfast.

Xiaoyan was upset, asking how could he let Heizi go alone!

The two reached the cattle farm while talking to each other and checked to see if Heizi had left. But when they arrived, they saw him gnawing on a bun dipped in sauce while drinking tap water!

Yan Fei was puzzled, "Didn’t I just tell you to go and eat?"

"Eat what? Did you cook for me?" Heizi was quite disgruntled.

"Yes, I did! It’s covered in the pot in the kitchen...uh, my kitchen." As he spoke, Yan Fei felt that he might have forgotten to tell Heizi about the meal because he was in a hurry to leave!

Heizi looked at his bun dipped in sauce, then gave Yan Fei a resentful look before going to have his meal in silence.

Xu Xiaoyan was rolling with laughter, teasing Yan Fei for his shenanigans.

After the three ate their breakfast together, Xu Xiaoyan, half in pity and half in amusement, suggested as she watched the unlucky Heizi leading the cows away, "Why don’t the three of us walk the cows there together?"
