Chapter 1602: Chapter 765 Polar Bear Ivan_2

The atmosphere at the banquet outside wasn’t too lively. Everyone was focused on conversation, rarely coercing others to drink heavily. They knew those who came had an agenda and drinking too much at noon could interfere with the afternoon exchange meeting, resulting in regrettable losses.

Yan Fei entered from outside, smiling as he lifted his cup: "Sorry, went out for a bit due to some small matters. I’ll punish myself with a drink!"

Boss Niu teased him with a chuckle: "I think you should at least switch to a teacup for your penalty, Old Ma, have you noticed? Boss Yan’s capacity for alcohol is unfathomably deep!"

Others were intentionally controlling their drinking, only picking up their glasses when they couldn’t refuse. Yan Fei wasn’t afraid of drinking and couldn’t be bothered to find various excuses, so earlier on, compared to the bunch who phoned in their drinking, the difference was pretty clear.

Now, he had drunk the most at the table and showed no signs of intoxication. Everyone there was a veteran of drinking scenes; who couldn’t see that?

Boss Ma laughed: "There’s nothing we can do, we all dare not drink today. Unless we band together and go all out, maybe then we can see Brother Yan’s true tolerance."

The others started laughing, those who were older teased him a bit, while the rest offered flattery, both obvious and subtle. It wasn’t that Yan Fei was incredibly popular; it was through conversation they’d found out he could communicate with the foreigners directly without a translator.

Communication with a translator is a straightforward pursuit of cooperation. Without one, it becomes more casual; as long as the conversation flows, anything can be discussed, making it easier to make friends. Everyone at the table was savvy, thinking it was smart to get on good terms with Yan Fei now, hoping he could introduce them to others later.

Yan Fei was well aware of this situation but saw these developments as incidental. Expanding his social network wasn’t a bad thing and it wouldn’t cost him much effort. After all, he would continue seeking partners in the afternoon, and introducing suitable candidates to these people was no trouble.

While the table was enjoying harmonious camaraderie, suddenly a staff member came over with two foreigners.

The Oil-headed Powder-faced one shouted from afar towards Yan Fei: "Hey, Yan Fei. Guess who I brought? This is Mr. Ivan from Russia, he’s tried beef from your ranch and is particularly interested. He couldn’t wait to meet you, the miraculous ranch owner..."

Yan Fei stood up, first expressing his gratitude to Ma Dan, then extended his hand: "Mr. Ivan, hello. I’m Yan Fei."

Ivan extended his hand to shake his while patting him firmly on the shoulder with the other: "I can tell, you’re definitely not just a simple ranch owner. Maybe even if we can’t become partners, we’ll be good friends."

"Aren’t we friends already?" Yan Fei joked. In his mind, however, he was utterly baffled: What exactly do you feel? Mr. Polar Bear seems to have some misconceptions, right?

Ma Dan was looking around uncertainly...

Seeing everyone at the table looking at him, Ivan said to Yan Fei: "Maybe I’ve come at a bad time, should I have waited until after your meal was over to come?"

"No problem, I’m actually done eating," Yan Fei smiled. "If you’re finished too, we can go aside to have a good chat."

"No problem," Ivan agreed readily.

After a while, Ivan and Yan Fei, along with the absent-minded Ma Dan, went upstairs to the lobby in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, each holding a large wine glass in hand.

"This is my favorite," Ivan sipped from his glass, then said contentedly to Yan Fei.

"Pretty strong," Yan Fei grinned and took a sip. "Mr. Madan, won’t you try some?"

"Oh!" Ma Dan, snapped out of his reverie, swirled his glass gently and then drank down in one gulp... "Pff... My god, is this pure alcohol?"

"Hahaha!" Ivan laughed proudly. "This is what real men drink, and it’s clear, compared to Yan, you’re not man enough."

...

Ma Dan’s face darkened as he endured the burning sensation in his mouth, countering: "Being a man isn’t just about proving yourself with alcohol... Okay, let’s put that topic to rest for now. I wanted to ask, Yan Fei, are you really just going to leave your lady companion downstairs? That’s not very gentlemanly of you."

I knew you were up to no good, wanting to check out my wife, huh?

Yan Fei secretly smiled smugly to himself while keeping a straight face: "Oh, she has class this afternoon, she left early!"

"I had no idea she was a student!" Ma Dan stiffened briefly, then forced a smile, his thoughts racing, You should’ve said so earlier, I’m not a fool to pull this Polar Bear over to you!

Despite his disappointment, Ma Dan still tried to maintain his composure: "I think you and Mr. Ivan surely have things to discuss, so I won’t disturb you two. I wish you luck in your cooperation!"

As soon as he left, Ivan watched him go and said: "Obviously, this Gallic Rooster... in your words, the intoxicated elderly’s intention is not in the wine? Am I right?"

"Intoxicated elderly’s intention is not in the wine!" Yan Fei repeated in Chinese, then smiled and added. "No matter what he’s thinking, at least he didn’t make it too obvious."

"Hahaha!" Ivan laughed again. "I think if he made it obvious, he probably wouldn’t be able to leave here alive. Am I right, Yan Fei?"
