Chapter 853: Chapter 871: Extra - Suddenly Missing You (15)

Clarence Cooper continued to call Elijah Smith "brother" and chat with him while drinking.

Ella Adams sat quietly by his side, her gaze shallow and her eyelashes lowered, looking somewhat indifferent.

After a while, Clarence noticed that Elijah Smith had been staring at Ella Adams all the time, so he raised his hand and put it on Ella’s shoulder, across the table full of delicious dishes that had already cooled down. Half-jokingly, he said to Elijah Smith, "CEO Smith, don’t you think Ella is especially beautiful?"

Elijah Smith stared intently at Ella Adams without taking a look at Clarence or saying anything. A coldness began to rise at the bottom of his eyes, feeling that Clarence’s fingers on Ella’s exposed skin were particularly irritating.

Remaining undisturbed, Ella turned her head and gave Clarence a slight smile, saying, "It’s getting late, there’s a meeting at the hotel tonight, so I’ll head back first."

As she spoke, she stood up and dodged Clarence’s hand.

Elijah Smith felt a little relaxed. He slowly leaned back in his chair and spoke in an emotionless tone, "President Cooper, I’m feeling a bit unwell today. Why don’t we just call it a night?"

"Okay." Clarence agreed readily, thinking he would send Ella back.

Elijah Smith called for the waiter and took out his wallet to pay the bill.

Elijah Smith’s car and Clarence’s car were parked in different directions. The two men shook hands and went their separate ways at the restaurant entrance.

After starting his car, Elijah Smith inexplicably drove off in the direction of Clarence’s parking area. When he crossed the bridge, he happened to see Clarence’s Mercedes-Benz coming out of the parking lot and turning around, exactly in front of him, slowly driving forward on the road.

Clarence’s car finally stopped in the underground parking lot of the hotel where Elijah Smith and Ella Adams were staying. Elijah Smith parked his car at a distance but did not get out.

He didn’t know what he was doing, just like a stalker, but deep down, he was dying to know what the relationship between Ella Adams and Clarence Cooper was and how far it had gone.

Three people took different elevators and almost arrived at the twenty-first floor at the same time. As Elijah Smith stepped out of the elevator, he saw Clarence and Ella walk to the door of Ella’s hotel room. They swiped the card and entered the room.

Elijah Smith stood somewhat rigidly at the elevator entrance, his expression trance-like for a long time, before taking a few slow steps forward but not daring to approach Ella’s room.

Leaning against the hotel wall and holding the same pose, Elijah Smith stood for several hours. Clarence Cooper never left the hotel room, and in a moment, Elijah Smith’s heart was filled with indescribable pain.

It’s just that ...he felt that ...Ella, the girl he loved the most, seemed to never come back to him again....

...

Ella Adams did want to try whether she could accept other men besides Elijah Smith.

How painful it was to be kicked down from the happiest peak by the one she loved the most; that was how unwilling she was now deep in her heart.

Ella Adams and Clarence Cooper each took a bath. Clarence, with great taste, opened a bottle of red wine from the hotel and chatted with Ella Adams while drinking for a while.
