Chapter 848: Chapter 866: Side Story - Suddenly Missing You (10)

Elijah Smith acted as if he hadn’t heard the man call the police at all. He didn’t care about his own criminal record. He kicked the mobile phone out of the man’s hand, grabbed his collar, pushed him to kneel in front of Ella Adams, and stepped on his back, saying, "Apologize!"

Ella Adams pursed her lips, seemingly oblivious to the scene in front of her. She walked to the dining table wearing high heels, picked up a dish, and used chopsticks to pull a hair from it. Facing the man kneeling on the ground, she asked, "Is this the hair?"

The man sneered but didn’t answer.

Ella Adams carefully examined the hair held between her fingers, compared it to the man’s own hair, then handed the strand to the restaurant manager nearby, instructing, "Keep this hair preserved. When the police arrive, hand it over to them, and tell them that someone put their hair on the plate to extort money."

Pausing, Ella Adams turned to the kneeling man and continued, "Hair grows on our bodies. The Public Security Department can test it, and the truth will come out."

"Yes, CEO Adams."

The man kneeling on the ground suddenly looked uncomfortable.

Ella Adams smiled and nodded at the restaurant manager, then glanced at the kneeling man, "You don’t have to apologize to me, I don’t need it. Since you know that taking a beating is the fair way to handle things, our hotel will also handle such incidents fairly."

The man on the ground was an experienced fraudster. For the first time in his life, he had been conquered by a young woman. He moved his lips, lost his earlier toughness, and said in a more reasonable tone, "See, I’ve been beaten, I’m apologizing to you now, I promise I’ll never come to your hotel to make trouble again, can we call it even?"

Ella Adams thought for a moment, "What about the police who have already been informed?"

"I’ll make a call, I’ll call right now, and say it was a false report." The man said while extending his arm to retrieve his mobile phone and dialling.

Ella Adams chuckled softly, without glancing at Elijah Smith, she turned and instructed the restaurant manager, "Calculate how much he spent on this meal, have him pay the bill, and ask him to leave."

"Yes, CEO Adams."

Ella Adams didn’t speak further. She just walked on her high heels and rhythmically left the restaurant.

As Ella Adams left, Elijah Smith’s pressure on the man’s back also eased accordingly.

The restaurant manager thought Elijah Smith was a good man who happened to pass by and lend a helping hand, so he politely thanked him.

Elijah Smith didn’t respond, just walked quickly out of the restaurant.

When Elijah Smith exited, the elevator door happened to close, and through a narrow gap, he saw Ella Adams standing silently in the exclusive elevator.

He didn’t go in, just stood by the elevator door, looking up at the red numbers above the elevator until it stopped at the twenty-third floor. Then, he entered another elevator and went up to the twenty-third floor as well.

PS: On the 10th, I want to finalize the manuscript of Prosperous Age to be published and have it listed during the summer vacation, so I will spend a lot of time processing that book tonight. After noon tomorrow, I will focus on updating Elijah Smith and Ella Adams’ side story. Please understand~
