Chapter 823: Chapter 841: Mum, Mum, Mum! (11)

"I’m not overthinking this, Percy. I’m the worst mother in the world... I even managed to lose my own child. Raymond hates me, as he should... and also..." Isabel Smith said, her tears flowing harder than ever. Her voice seethed with despair as she choked on her words, "Raymond... he’s told me many times that he despises his mother..."

Just think about how much Raymond eagerly anticipated his mother, and then later, gradually fell into despair.

Percy had witnessed it all along.

Raymond is, in fact, very gentle by nature. But his reaction today was the most violent Percy had ever seen since Raymond was born.

Percy had brought Raymond all the way to his Father, but for a moment, he did not know how to handle the situation.

But still, Percy made an effort to comfort Isabel Smith in a light-hearted tone, "Isabel, don’t overthink it. Raymond must have just been shocked."

Isabel Smith did not respond, but her crying intensified. No matter how Percy comforted her, it was all in vain. In the end, he could only carry her to bed. Isabel curled up on the bed, clutching the quilt, still crying incessantly.

This kind of situation is not something you can rush. Raymond is already five years old, has his own judgement. So, Percy did not try to force his son to accept the reality.

However, in the middle of the night, when he woke up, Percy found that Isabel Smith, who was beside him, had disappeared. He panicked, got up, searched the entire bedroom, but did not find her. He then went outside and noticed that Raymond’s bedroom door was half open. Percy walked over and saw through the gap that Isabel Smith was sitting beside Raymond’s bed, watching Raymond as he slept. Occasionally, she would lift her hand to wipe her face as if drying tears.

Percy stood at the door feeling a wave of heartache crashing over him.

.....

The next day, early in the morning, Percy called Raymond for breakfast.

Isabel Smith had not slept all night. After crying, her eyes were swollen. Upon seeing Raymond, she broke into a gentle smile, "Raymond, let’s have breakfast."

Raymond glanced at Isabel Smith, with a stern look on his face. He lowered his head, moved past her, and went straight to the dining table.

Isabel Smith stood in the same spot, watching Raymond’s retreating figure, a wave of indescribable sadness washed over her.

Percy reached out his hand, giving hers a reassuring squeeze, and then led her to the dining table.

Recently, during meals, Isabel would always be the one to serve Raymond. Quite to his liking, he would always eat a lot. But today, when Isabel started to serve him, Raymond clutched his own bowl, sidestepping her.

Isabel’s hand, holding tableware, awkwardly hung mid-air. She stared at Raymond for a while before quietly putting the tableware back.

Seeing this, Percy couldn’t help but frown. He turned to Raymond and said, "Raymond, Sister Isabel is your birth mother. Are you sure you don’t like her?"

Raymond simply focused on his food, not uttering a word.

"Raymond, are you sure you don’t want your birth mother? If you don’t want her, I’ll ask Sister Isabel to leave our home right away."

PS: Those familiar with Ye’s style know that whenever I write a major conclusion, it’s always very slow. Unsurprisingly, the conclusion should be finished by tomorrow night... Everyone should go to bed early, don’t wait for me, I’m going to take my time~
