Chapter 790: Chapter 808: Then, I’m Ready to Love You (31)

Raymond turned his head and glanced at Isabel, then reached out his hand and pushed Percy: "Dinner time, Father."

Percy didn’t move at all this time.

Raymond glanced back at Isabel, who finally said, "Raymond, let’s go back. We won’t disturb Father’s sleep anymore. Let’s eat first."

Raymond nodded and ran back to the dining table.

As Isabel served Raymond some food, she looked again at Percy, who was lying motionless on the bed, and then sat down and accompanied Raymond during dinner.

Most of the time it was Isabel urging Raymond to eat, but she didn’t eat much herself. Children eat slowly as it is, so to provide a balanced meal, Isabel prepared some fruit for Raymond after dinner.

After eating, Isabel took Raymond out for a little activity. When it was about time, she gave him a bath and accompanied him to bed, whispering bedtime stories to him until he fell asleep.

It was half past nine in the evening. Isabel glanced at Percy, who still showed no intention of getting up. She looked at the table full of untouched dishes, thought for a moment, and then took the food to the microwave to reheat them. Afterwards, she sat at the dining table to keep Percy company in his sulking.

After a while, Isabel touched the rice bowl, fearing the food would get cold again.

Actually, she didn’t really want to deal with him. Her neck still hurt a little bit, but seeing the wheelchair in the infirmary and the bandages on his exposed arm, her heart softened.

He ended up like this, ultimately because of her. He was in a bad mood and overreacted at noon, but considering he was a patient, she didn’t want to argue with him.

Moreover, he had been sulking for several hours, and any major grievances should have dissipated by now. He was being petty, but she couldn’t follow suit. Isabel sighed, stood up, walked to the bedside, and gently nudged his back, whispering, "Percy, can we eat dinner now?"

Just like when Raymond called him to dinner earlier, he still had no reaction and remained motionless. But his eyelashes trembled slightly.

It was then that Isabel realized he had been awake the whole time.

Raymond called him for dinner, and he didn’t move. Was he waiting for her to call him?

Thinking of this, Isabel tried calling him again: "It’s ten o’clock now. Finish eating and then sleep."

Isabel clearly saw Percy’s fingers by his pillow twitch slightly.

She suddenly understood that her guesses were correct.

Before, she thought backing down was humiliating, but now she knew that yielding for love was not humiliating, but giving.

This man had given her so much without complaint or regret, even in the face of heavy rain and fierce wind. So why should she be so petty with him now?

So Isabel persistently reached out her hand to hold Percy’s arm.

However, who would have known that Percy, who was pretending to sleep, was actually waiting for Isabel to make the first move. Just as her fingers touched his arm, before she could even pull him forcefully, he suddenly sat up.

His proactive response left Isabel momentarily stunned, then she stared at Percy with a bitter smile.
