Chapter 788: Chapter 806: Then, I’m Ready to Love You (29)

He wanted to ask, but he was afraid to hear from Isabel’s mouth about her impending good news with George Vincent.

When did he become so unconfident?

At this moment, Percy Stanton felt as if he was isolated in another space, helpless and at a loss.

Isabel could tell that Percy was in a bad mood, but she couldn’t figure out what exactly he was unhappy about. So, after her anger faded, she sat beside Percy’s bed, reached out her hand, and started massaging his legs.

These were things she learned from the internet, saying that bedridden, injured people usually have slower blood circulation if they don’t move around for long periods, which can cause numbness.

So these days, in her spare time, she would mostly massage his limbs.

She had never done these things before, so in the beginning, her force was either too light or too heavy. Several times, she pinched him so uncomfortable that she got scared and quickly adjusted her technique. As the days slowly passed, she gradually became more skilled and figured out the right amount of pressure for him.

During these inseparable days together in the hospital, she had gotten used to Percy’s occasional tantrums. All she had to do was coax him gently, and he would soon smile again.

So, after massaging Percy for a while, Isabel looked up at him and saw that his mood had improved a lot. She then asked, "Percy, did something happen to you today? You seem to be in a bad mood."

Percy didn’t say a word, just closed his eyes, enjoying Isabel’s massage.

Isabel pursed her lips but didn’t ask further.

After a while, she eventually spoke again, changing the subject: "Percy, what should we eat tonight?"

Percy remained silent.

Isabel thought of a few dishes in her head and was just about to ask Percy for his opinion when she heard a knock on the door. Then the caregiver’s voice came, "Miss Smith, Mr. Stanton’s medicine is ready."

The caregiver was standing at the door, not coming in.

Isabel knew that these people were still scared after being scolded by Percy just now, so she got up and went to the door to take the medicine: "Thank you."

"You’re welcome." The caregiver said quietly to Isabel, not daring to look at Percy. "I’ll come back later to get the medicine bowl." Then hurriedly left.

Isabel chuckled and closed the door, holding the medicine and walked back to the bed. She stirred the medicine, looked up at Percy, and said, "Time to take the medicine."

Percy lay down directly, grabbed the quilt, and put it over his head, ignoring Isabel.

Isabel frowned slightly, sensing that Percy today seemed a bit different from his usual reluctance to take his medicine. She held the medicine bowl in one hand, pulled the quilt with the other to reveal Percy’s head, and said gently, "The medicine won’t be good once it gets cold, drink it, it’s good for your body."

Percy raised his hand and pulled up the quilt again.

"Why are you acting like a child? Even Raymond isn’t this troublesome." Isabel’s tone was still soft. After saying this, she lifted the quilt again, "Drink the medicine, and then we’ll go downstairs to pick up Raymond together."

"I said I won’t take it!" This time, Percy didn’t struggle with the cup but raised his hand and pushed Isabel’s hand away.

He was feeling upset, so his temper was bad. Annoyed, he exerted a bit too much force and pushed Isabel, making her stumble.
