Chapter 779: Chapter 797: Then, I’m Ready to Love You (20)

"Strange, it’s not my phone that has a problem, why can’t George get through to me?"

Percy, who knew the truth, slowly turned his head, looked at Isabel who was still fiddling with her phone, and reached out his hand, saying, "Let me take a look."

Isabel suspiciously handed her phone to Percy.

Percy took Isabel’s phone, appearing to help her find the issue, but actually went straight to Isabel’s messages, read each text message she had just exchanged with George, and without any hesitation, added George’s messages to the blacklist.

Hehe... Want to have a lunch date tomorrow... and text to make plans? Now, let’s see how you’ll contact each other!

Afterwards, Percy calmly returned the phone to Isabel: "I couldn’t find any problems. Maybe there’s something wrong with George’s phone."

Isabel picked up Percy’s phone and made a call to herself, confirming that it still went through, and nodded: "I think George’s phone has a problem."

Having said that, Isabel looked at Percy and said: "Tomorrow at noon, I may need to go out for an hour."

"Oh." Percy nodded, his expression unreadable as to whether he was pleased or not.

...

The second day, at noon, twelve o’clock. Isabel’s phone still hadn’t rung nor received any text messages. She assumed George hadn’t arrived yet, so she had lunch with Percy and Raymond Thompson.

Halfway through the meal, there was a loud knock on the infirmary door.

Isabel got up and opened the door.

Unexpectedly, it was George?

Isabel was somewhat surprised: how had he found this place? She froze on the spot.

Percy noticed that Isabel hadn’t spoken for a while and put down his tableware, asking: "Isabel, who is it?"

Isabel didn’t answer Percy’s question but looked at George and said: "How did you find this place?"

George took out his phone and said, somewhat helplessly: "I don’t know why, but several messages I sent you failed to deliver, and I couldn’t get through on the phone. So, I called your friend and found out you were here, so I came directly."

He paused, then, politely: "I hope I’m not intruding."

"It’s okay." Isabel forced a smile.

"I heard your friend say that Mr. Stanton was in the hospital, so I bought some fruit downstairs."

"Thank you." Isabel reached out and took the fruit but didn’t invite George to come in to sit; instead, she said, "Wait a moment, please. I’ll put these things inside."

George nodded. Isabel then turned around, carrying the fruit George had bought, and went back to the infirmary. She put the fruit on the table, then said to Percy: "George is here; I’m going out with him for a while."

Percy’s expression became somewhat gloomy. He lowered his eyes, nodded but didn’t say anything.

Isabel picked up her wallet and coat and told Raymond: "Raymond, remember to finish the rice in your bowl. I’ll check later when I come back."

Raymond immediately nodded vigorously, then slid off his dining chair and accompanied Isabel to the door, proudly saying to her, "Sister Isabel, don’t worry; I’ll take care of Father."
