Chapter 775: Chapter 793: Then, I’m Ready to Love You (16)
"There’s no smell?" Isabel Smith moved closer to Percy Stanton’s face and sniffed, saying, "I can’t smell it. Open your mouth, let me smell it."
Percy opened his mouth wide, and Isabel quickly shoved the spoonful of medicinal juice into his mouth, placed the spoon back in the bowl, and lifted his chin with her hand, making him swallow the medicine down his throat with a gulp.
Realizing that he had been deceived, Percy snorted and turned his face away, waiting for Isabel to coax him.
When he woke up that day, he faintly heard Isabel telling him that she had agreed to be with him. But after he woke up, she never mentioned it again. He was not sure if it was his illusion or reality, and he did not dare to ask, fearing that she would still be concerned about her parents’ blood feud.
Even though she was right in front of him, taking care of him day and night, his heart was always in turmoil, feeling that Isabel might leave him at any moment.
He wondered if this was a sequela caused by Isabel repeatedly choosing to give him up when faced with choices.
Percy genuinely lacked confidence and strength.
So he really cherished every bit of kindness Isabel showed him, deliberately pretending not to like taking medicine, so that she would patiently coax him.
Isabel looked at Percy’s sullen expression and completely confirmed her guess.
He was indeed just being childish in order to enjoy her kindness towards him.
He was not unable to take traditional medicine, he just wanted her to accompany him while drinking it. He let the medicine cool down, waiting for her to return.
For a moment, Isabel didn’t know how to describe the sadness surging in her heart.
Percy saw that Isabel hadn’t spoken for a long time and couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. He casually turned his head and glanced at her.
Isabel quickly came to her senses, flashed a brilliant smile at Percy, picked up the spoon, and handed it to him. "The medicine will get cold soon. Drink it while it’s hot. If you really think it’s bitter, I’ll get you some sugar later."
"Look at today’s beautiful weather. After you finish your medicine, I’ll take you downstairs to enjoy the sunlight. Raymond is playing games with his little friends downstairs, and we can pick him up together for dinner later."
"What do you want for dinner? If the hospital’s food doesn’t suit your taste, I can call our friend Raymond Thompson to have food prepared at the Smith Family home and sent over."
Her voice was like satin, soft and smooth, melting Percy’s heart as he listened. His expression softened involuntarily, and he opened his mouth to drink the medicine Isabel fed him.
Isabel knew that Percy was feeling content at the bottom of his heart because of her coaxing, so she just smiled and continued to feed him the medicine.
After finishing the medicine, Isabel really called the nurse to help Percy sit in the wheelchair, and then took him downstairs.
Spring in Bellshire was sunny but not hot, and the weather today was exceptionally good. With the sky blue and cloudless, and no wind, Isabel pushed Percy along a flat path to the Little Garden where Raymond was playing.
Raymond was a very enthusiastic child, telling stories to two children with congenital defects, unaware of the presence of Isabel and Percy.
Along the way, Raymond even got up, ran to buy three bottles of water, handed them to the other two children, and a middle-aged man nearby helped to unscrew the caps.
