Chapter 683: Chapter 701: Go ahead and please Isabel Smith (4)

"Mr. Stanton, you should rest well."

Percy Stanton nodded gently, and Tony tiptoed out of the infirmary.

...

Isabel Smith arrived at the doorstep of Percy Stanton’s infirmary and left after a while because she went back to her rented house and then to Percy’s Apartment. She took out the two pieces of evidence about her and Sebastian Smith’s crimes that she had kept, put them in a bag, and returned to the hospital.

While entering the hospital, Isabel bought a box of pure milk at the supermarket across the road.

Carrying the pure milk, she took the elevator to the entrance of Percy’s infirmary. Before entering, she heard Percy’s irritated voice from inside: "I told you, I’m not well, I still need these bandages!"

Isabel frowned and stopped at the doorstep, then she heard the doctor’s words: "Mr. Stanton, your bones have healed well, and wearing bandages for a long time is not good for blood circulation. After taking them off, your recovery will be faster. Besides, the weather is getting hotter..."

"Bang——" Suddenly, there was a noise inside, as if something had fallen to the ground. Then, Percy’s angry voice came: "I want all of you to get out! I said, I won’t take it off! You think I’m an idiot, don’t you? I know that not long after I get rid of these bandages, you’re going to kick me out of the hospital! I’m not leaving!"

"Get out, get out of here!"

With the last few words, it seemed like Percy vented all the anger that had been boiling within his chest. After he finished, the entire infirmary fell silent. Then, the door in front of Isabel was pulled open from the inside.

"Miss Smith."

The head doctor, standing at the door, was a bit stunned upon seeing Isabel Smith, and then greeted her awkwardly.

Inside the room, Percy, whose chest was heaving and emotions had not yet stabilized, heard the words "Miss Smith." His body tensed up, and he looked towards the door.

Isabel and Percy exchanged glances, and she looked apologetically at the group of doctors who had been scolded terribly by Percy, and smiled: "Thank you all."

The doctors nodded hurriedly and one by one, they rushed away.

The infirmary quieted down, and Isabel entered without seeing Raymond’s figure. She asked, "Where’s Raymond?"

Percy didn’t know how much Isabel had heard while standing at the door. Indeed, he didn’t want to remove the bandages, and he didn’t want to leave the hospital either. In the hospital, he could find an excuse to have Isabel by his side every day.

Percy heard Isabel’s question, swallowed his saliva, looked out of the window with a slightly annoyed expression, and said: "He went downstairs to play."

Isabel put the milk on the table and walked two steps forward, only to catch a faint whiff of cigarette smoke. She walked around the room and saw seven or eight irregular cigarette butts in the ashtray on Percy’s bedside table. Isabel frowned, walked up, and without thinking, held out her hand to Percy and said, "Give me all the cigarettes you have on you."

Percy didn’t say anything.

However, Isabel simply bent down and rummaged around Percy’s bedside and clothing for a while, finally fishing out a soft pack of cigarettes. When she opened it and saw five or six cigarettes left inside, she immediately pulled them out, broke them, and threw them into the nearby trash can.

"Percy, you’re still smoking even when you’re like this! Do you know how many harmful effects smoking has on your body right now?!"

When Isabel said this, her tone was slightly angry. Her eyes glared roundly at Percy. In the end, she simply raised her hand and threw the ashtrays on the table into the trash can as well.

Percy stared at Isabel, still not speaking. However, he felt a little dizzy. Was she showing concern for him?
