Chapter 676: Chapter 694: Even if I Die, I’ll Accompany You (27)

At George Vincent’s reminder, Isabel Smith let out a low, "Oh no!" She had completely forgotten that she had agreed to have lunch with George. However, Raymond Thompson ended up in danger at school, so she put it off and forgot. The subsequent chaotic events left her no opportunity to recollect, so it was thoroughly pushed to the back of her mind.

Although separated by a phone call, Isabel was still embarrassed and replied: "I’m sorry, I forgot."

As soon as she sent the text, her face turned somewhat red.

Percy Stanton sat aside, seemingly engrossed in watching TV. However, he was constantly observing Isabel with the corner of his eye. Seeing her blush, he frowned and wondered, what were they talking about that made her so shy? She hadn’t blushed that much when he had kissed her!

Isabel picked up a toothpick, handed one to Percy, took one herself, and speared a piece of fruit to put in her mouth. Then, she checked the text message from George: "No problem, when do you have time? Let’s meet up."

Isabel glanced at Percy and Raymond and replied: "I might not have time recently. Can we talk about it later? I wanted to find you too."

George quickly texted back: "How about sometime in the next two days? One hour should be enough. Where are you? If you really don’t have time, I can come to find you."

Isabel contemplated for a moment and responded: "I am at the hospital."

George: "Are you injured?"

Isabel: "No, a friend."

George: "I’ll come tomorrow at noon. Can you come out for an hour? It won’t take up too much of your time."

Isabel considered that she would eventually have to talk to George anyway and thought it might be better to address the matter sooner rather than later. In regards to Percy and Raymond, she could ask a nurse to take care of them temporarily. So Isabel replied: "Alright."

George: "But I can’t reach your phone. How can I contact you? Can you receive text messages?"

Isabel: "Yes, I can."

George: "Okay."

Isabel did not reply to George’s message and instead turned to Percy and said, "Percy, can I borrow your phone for a moment?"

Percy handed over his phone.

Isabel took it and dialed her own number. Once connected, she hung up and frowned at Percy. "Strange, it’s not a problem with my phone. Why did George say he can’t call me?"

Knowing well the situation, Percy turned to Isabel and said, "Let me see."

Isabel suspiciously handed over her phone to Percy.

Percy held Isabel’s phone, seemingly looking for the issue but actually going directly to Isabel’s text messages. He read through the exchange between her and George, then without any hesitation, he added George’s number to the blacklist.

Heh heh... Thinking of meeting up tomorrow at noon... Now let’s see how you contact her!

Percy then calmly returned the phone to Isabel: "I didn’t find any issues. Perhaps Sir George’s phone is malfunctioning."

Isabel picked up Percy’s phone and dialed her own number again. It still connected as usual, so she nodded and said, "I think George’s phone is having a problem."

After saying that, Isabel looked at Percy and said, "I may have to go out for an hour tomorrow at noon."

"Oh," Percy nodded, his expression neither happy nor unhappy.

...

The second day, at noon, Isabel’s phone still hadn’t rung and no text messages had arrived. She assumed George hadn’t arrived yet, so she went ahead and had lunch with Percy and Raymond.
