Chapter 622: Chapter 640: A Young Girl’s Feelings Are Always Poetry (3)

Soon, another text message came into her mobile phone. Isabel glanced at it and didn’t reply, but she didn’t feel like reading anymore.

She lazily curled up in the rocking chair, swaying slowly. The night wind blew, her hair fluttering gently. Her fingers, deliberately or not, touched the screen of the mobile phone, her eyes becoming somewhat disorganized.

...

The next day was Saturday, and since Isabel had gone to bed late the night before, she slept in the next day and was finally awakened by a knock on the door.

The visitor was an hourly nanny hired by Percy, whom Isabel had met many times before. When she opened the door and saw the nanny holding bags of various ingredients, she quickly reached out to help.

"It’s okay, I can handle it." The hourly nanny Auntie smiled kindly and while closing the door said, "Miss Smith can go back to rest for a while. I’m going to prepare lunch now. Once it’s ready, I’ll call Mr. Tony to come and take you to the hospital."

"No need." Isabel smiled, placed the ingredients she was holding in the kitchen, and came back to Percy’s bedroom. After quickly washing up, she returned and began helping the hourly nanny in the kitchen.

...

By the time Isabel and Tony, carrying lunch, arrived at the hospital, Raymond was just waking up and complaining of hunger. When he saw Isabel, he obediently called out, "Sister Isabel."

Today, Raymond looked much better than yesterday. Isabel walked up to the hospital bed, touched Raymond’s head, then served the food and prepared to feed him herself.

Tony stood aside, teased Raymond for a bit, then turned to Percy and said, "Mr. Stanton, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you."

"What a coincidence, I have a task for you as well." Percy stood up and looked at Isabel. "I’ll step out for a bit. Please take care of Raymond."

"Sure." Isabel responded softly, bowed her head slightly, blew on the hot soup, and carefully fed it to Raymond.

Percy glanced at his son, who was eagerly opening his mouth, waiting for Isabel to feed him the soup. He instructed him, "Remember to listen to Sister Isabel."

Raymond nodded and then couldn’t wait to swallow the soup from Isabel’s spoon.

Percy watched Isabel take care of Raymond for a while, then turned and left the hospital room with Tony.

Percy and Tony walked out of the hospital building and came to a small garden behind it. They found a relatively secluded area where Tony began to report to Percy straight away: "Mr. Stanton, as per your instructions, Sebastian Smith lost three-fourths of his fortune in the stock market within three days. Just as you predicted, he has indeed started to collaborate with others and create shell companies to launder money."

"From now on, start collecting these pieces of evidence. Don’t miss a thing."

"Yes, Mr. Stanton."

After giving an answer, Tony continued to report about the Thompson Empire Group’s affairs to Percy and awaited his decisions. Once Percy made them, Tony finally said, "Mr. Stanton, I will leave it here for now, and will head back."

"Wait a moment." Percy stopped him and took out two transparent plastic bags from his pocket. They both contained hair.

Tony was stunned. He saw Percy hand him the two plastic bags. They were labeled respectively with Isabel Smith and Raymond Thompson’s names. "Express delivery these to Uncle Thomas for a DNA paternity test."

Tony was astounded and blurted out, "Mr. Stanton, could Miss Smith actually be young master Raymond’s mother?"

"Maybe." Percy ambiguously responded, then added, "We will know everything once the DNA test results come back."
