Chapter 618: Chapter 636: I Choose to Like You (9)
They could ruthlessly murder her parents, wouldn’t they do the same to a newborn baby?
"Isabel Smith, are you slapping me because you don’t believe me or out of fear? Isabel Smith, you’re scared, aren’t you? I’m telling you, I never wanted to harm your child. Once he was born and left his mother, he had no survival strength..."
Isabel Smith, with all her strength, slapped Charlotte Green again: "Shut up!"
When she said these words, she seemed to have shouted them out, her voice hoarse: "Shut up! Charlotte Green, I warn you, stop talking nonsense here. Even if you bring my child to me safe and sound, I won’t delete those photos in gratitude!"
"Don’t tell me that I will ruin the Smith family’s reputation. To outsiders, I am the young mistress of the Smith family, and you are just a burden. Whatever trouble you cause, people will only ridicule you for not being well-educated. But I truly uphold the Smith family’s reputation. So, Charlotte Green, let me make it clear: whether my child is really dead or not, sooner or later, I will force the truth out of your mouth!"
When Isabel Smith said this, her expression became rather fierce!
After speaking in her clear voice, she glared at Charlotte Green, then turned around, walking away in high heels without looking back.
Isabel Smith, furious, left the café and stopped by the roadside to hail a taxi. Still feeling frustrated, she took several deep breaths before rudely getting into a taxi.
When the driver asked where she was going, she responded very rudely, which caused the taxi driver to frown and glance at her several times.
Isabel Smith didn’t care about this at all. She just turned her head, looking out of the car window, her hand tightly clenched into a fist.
She knew that even if she pointedly voiced disbelief in front of Charlotte Green, deep down, she was still scared.
What Charlotte Green said was somewhat believable, which made it difficult for her to discern the truth.
If her child really died...
Thinking of this, Isabel Smith suddenly felt her hands and feet icy cold.
...
When Isabel Smith arrived at the infirmary in the hospital where Raymond Thompson was staying, Percy Stanton wasn’t there. There was only a female nurse present, who was closely watching Raymond’s infusion bottle.
The female nurse, who informed about the blood shortage last night, remembered Isabel Smith. Thus, when she saw her, she got up with a smile and greeted her.
"How is little Raymond?" Isabel Smith placed the nutritional supplements she bought from a shopping mall nearby on the table and asked.
"He woke up once at noon today, but fell asleep again after a short while."
Isabel Smith nodded, walked around the infirmary, and then asked, "Where’s Percy Stanton?"
"Mr. Stanton went to the restroom."
Isabel Smith didn’t ask anything else, she just walked over to the hospital bed, looked at Raymond Thompson and then gently pulled up his quilt.
The female nurse, standing aside, giggled and exclaimed, "Miss Smith, are you sure you’re not little Raymond’s mother?"
"How could that be possible?" Isabel Smith raised her head, cracked a smile and then looked at the liquid in the infusion bottle.
"I always thought you and little Raymond looked just like mother and son. And earlier when you were covering him with the quilt, I noticed a distinct resemblance between you two."
"Really?" Isabel Smith lowered her head, glanced at Raymond, was about to speak when she heard a clear voice from the door: "Really what?"
"Mr. Stanton is back." The female nurse turned her head, looking at Percy Stanton who entered, and continued smilingly, "I was saying that Miss Smith and Mr. Stanton’s son resemble each other."
Isabel Smith greeted Percy Stanton who walked in with a radiant smile, "I don’t see any resemblance between myself and Raymond. I think Raymond looks a lot like you."
