Chapter 613: Chapter 631: I Choose to Like You (4)

Perhaps they were both in the same plight, but Isabel Smith showed no surprise or shock, and instead, she started eating silently. When she mentioned Raymond Thompson, Percy Stanton thought of how his life was initially thrown into chaos when he inexplicably had a child, and he also began to speak less.

After dinner, Isabel brushed her teeth, lay down on the bed, and looked at Percy who had just finished his work. She suddenly spoke, saying something that didn’t make sense: "I understand."

Percy frowned, and looked at Isabel, somewhat puzzled.

Isabel curled her lips and smiled at Percy, saying, "Just now when you said it, I understood."

Isabel’s gaze became somewhat lost as her memory was instantly pulled back to six years ago when she became mysteriously pregnant. Trying to maintain a calm tone, she revealed a slight fluctuation, "Actually, I’m like that too. But I didn’t suddenly have a child; I became pregnant out of nowhere. In the memories I can think of now, I haven’t slept with any man, but I still got pregnant."

"Does it sound fake, right?"

The heavy and past events had always been sealed in memory and had never been mentioned by Isabel to anyone.

At this moment, when she brought up her past, she realized that the sadness and pain were still as vivid as ever.

"I also think it’s fake, but it’s the truth. However, no one believed me. Everyone thought I was pregnant out of wedlock when I was underage."

"It is because of this that my grandma sent me to the United States."

Isabel having a child was like a lingering thought buried in Percy’s heart. Although later, because of deep love, he stopped caring about her past.

Or, he stopped thinking about it.

But, he didn’t expect that in such a quiet hospital in the middle of the night, she would calmly reveal the child she once had to him.

There was no love, nor was there any man, just like him, having a child by a twist of fate.

Percy was delighted.

Love is possessiveness.

Men are born with a strong possessiveness. The deeper the love, the more they want everything about her to be theirs. They wish they could participate in her past, present, future, all of her time.

He is no exception, so now he knows that Isabel has always been just his, he is overjoyed.

He was so delighted that he didn’t think about anything else and didn’t even listen to Isabel’s shallow narrative.

Isabel told Percy a lot about her feelings. From her collapse when she first found out about the child, to gradually accepting the child’s existence, to the overflowing maternal love, and finally her efforts to live alone with the child in the United States, she told him everything.

She even told him how she felt the first fetal movement.

As she spoke, Isabel smiled, as if she had traveled through a time tunnel back to that time. Her stomach still had the child, and she raised her hand to touch her belly.

Then, she talked about how her child was lost on the day she was born.

Isabel, who had her blood drawn, was not in great spirits. After rambling for so long, she seemed even more exhausted.

After a short while, she fell into a deep sleep.

Peace was restored to the infirmary as Percy lay quietly on the sofa, staring at the ceiling, and after a long time, he closed his eyes in the soft breathing of the woman not far away.

Percy had a dream that night, perhaps because of what Isabel had said. The scene in the dream was both beautiful and dramatic.

He and Isabel had both had a child due to an unexpected twist of fate, so he suddenly wondered if they could do a DNA test together to see if she was Raymond’s mother.
