Chapter 597: Chapter 614: The Lights of the City Shine for You (7)

Evelyn Osbert curved her lips, smiling faintly: "I thought Mr. Stanton was extraordinary from that moment."

Percy Stanton leaned against the chair, hearing this, he smirked, not hiding it from the others, and directly spoke to Evelyn Osbert: "Miss Evelyn, you’re not saying my clothes were knockoff goods at that time, are you?"

Her expression turned slightly embarrassed at his question, while the others showed curiosity.

Evelyn held her wine glass, her face changing slightly before saying calmly: "Mr. Stanton really enjoys his jokes."

Percy didn’t continue speaking, only looking at Evelyn with a noncommittal smile.

Just when Evelyn thought Percy wouldn’t drink with her, she prepared to lower her arm, but Percy held his wine glass, stretching it to hers, clinking their glasses together. He didn’t leave any words behind and raised his head, finishing the wine in his glass.

Evelyn hesitated for a while before lifting her wine glass, feeling flattered, and drank the wine.

When she put down her wine glass, she deliberately glanced at Percy. She discovered his expression was just indifferent without any trace of anger or disdain. Her heart suddenly filled with an inexplicable hope.

Since they had been drinking, and everyone had arrived by car, they arranged to rest briefly in rooms at the club after the meal was over.

Percy’s room happened to be right across from Evelyn’s.

Not knowing if it was due to the alcohol, Evelyn felt somewhat impulsive. After entering her room, she boldly left the door open, staring at Percy’s tightly closed room door. After thinking for a while, she got up, walked into the bathroom, took out her makeup bag, touched up her makeup, and looked at her charming face in the mirror. Biting her teeth, she turned, walking steadily on her high heels directly to Percy’s room door.

She felt as if this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that she didn’t want to miss. Moreover, at the dining table, Percy had drunk quite a bit of wine. Intoxication could blur one’s mind and bolster courage, so now she decided to go all out.

Thinking of this, Evelyn lifted her hand and gently knocked on Percy’s door.

She then heard a pleasant male voice from inside: "Who is it?"

Evelyn didn’t answer, only knocked on the door again. After waiting for a while, she heard steady footsteps approaching from behind the door. Then, the sound of the door opening played, and the heavy solid wooden door opened, revealing Percy’s handsome and vibrant face.

Evelyn smiled brightly at Percy, with a charming voice saying: "Mr. Stanton."

Percy thought it was the club’s service staff, but upon seeing Evelyn, he frowned and subconsciously tried to close the door.

Evelyn quickly raised her hand and pushed against the door: "Mr. Stanton, may I come in?"

How could Percy not understand the implication behind her words? He looked at Evelyn for a moment, then hooked his lips and smirked disdainfully: "Miss, have you entered the wrong room?"

Although Percy’s smile didn’t look particularly friendly, it didn’t reject her either. This slightly boosted Evelyn’s courage. She tilted her head, gazing up at Percy with an increasingly charming and alluring smile: "Mr. Stanton, whether I’ve entered the wrong room isn’t the point. The point is, would you like me to enter your room, or should we go to mine together?"

Such a shameless and direct statement made Percy laugh out loud involuntarily. Afterward, his eyebrows turned cold, and he was about to scold Evelyn when a sudden idea popped into his mind. The words he was about to say were suppressed.

Evelyn stood elegantly in front of Percy, nervously observing his expression. Seeing it change from a smile to cold and then to relaxed, her heart lifted from cloudy to partly cloudy and then to clear skies.
