Chapter 558: Chapter 574 Relentless Confession (25)
She looked into Percy Stanton’s deep and familiar beautiful eyes, thinking about how scared she had been just moments ago, and suddenly teared up. Without thinking, she grabbed her mobile phone and fiercely threw it at Percy Stanton: "You idiot, Percy! Don’t you know that knocking on someone’s door late at night can scare them to death?! Wah..."
Percy accurately caught Isabel’s mobile phone, his eyes holding a trace of a smile as he looked at Isabel, saying, "Isabel, how could you be so scared?"
He criticized her for being scared after he knocked on the door silently for half a day?
What kind of ridiculous logic was that?
Without thinking, Isabel lifted her foot and fiercely kicked Percy in the leg. Then, while crying, she continued to sob and complain to him, "Percy, you big bastard, you scared me to death! I thought someone broke in to rob us."
Percy stood at the doorstep, sizing up the new house Isabel had rented. Noticing the ordinary interior decoration, he pursed his lips and said, "Isabel, this house is nothing compared to the apartment I let you live in before. It’s not even close. Robbers wouldn’t even bother coming here."
"Hmph... you bastard!" feeling insulted, Isabel didn’t even think before lifting her hand to close the door, trying to leave Percy outside.
"Isabel, how heartless can you be! I traveled all this way to find you, and yet you still want to keep me outside." Percy said as he forcibly entered the house and then closed the door behind him.
Isabel glared at Percy, her face turning sideways as she stomped towards the bedroom.
Percy hurried to catch up, looking around the room as he walked. He noticed several plants placed throughout the house, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere with their various shades of green.
When Isabel had just run to open the door for Percy, she had thrown her mobile phone on the bed. As soon as she entered the bedroom, she immediately grabbed her phone and started making a call.
"Who are you calling this late at night, Isabel?" Percy quickly withdrew his gaze from looking around, focusing on Isabel’s face as he asked with a particular interest.
Isabel ignored Percy, just pressing three buttons on her phone and then waving it in front of Percy.
Percy frowned as he looked at the "110" on the mobile phone screen, and asked, "Isabel, why are you calling 110 this late at night?"
"To report a crime." With tears still on her face, Isabel sniffled and pressed the call button without any hesitation, saying with a hint of grievance, "I’m going to report you for trespassing into someone’s house late at night and frightening people by pretending to be a ghost."
"Have you ever seen a ghost as handsome as this?" Percy quickly stepped forward and snatched the phone from Isabel’s hand before slipping it into his pocket. Looking at her tearful eyes, his expression softened, "Isabel, I didn’t mean to scare you. I thought you had misunderstood me, so I knocked on the door a few times in a hurry."
As Percy spoke, he raised his hand to gently stroke Isabel’s long hair, and then he pulled her into his arms. His voice was soft and gentle as he said, "It’s okay, don’t be afraid... good girl..."
Isabel leaned against Percy’s chest, listening to his strong heartbeat. The panic in her heart slowly dissipated. She smelled the familiar and pleasant scent on the man and finally came back to her senses after a while. She raised her head and asked Percy, "Weren’t you supposed to be busy with important work in Ravenwood City? How did you suddenly come back to Bellshire?"
Percy lowered his head, looking into Isabel’s eyes and said, "Isn’t there something more important than important work?"
