Chapter 532: Chapter 548: To Leave or Not to Leave? (13)

Isabel Smith stood by the bathroom door, watching Percy Stanton still sound asleep on the bed for a while before finally walking to the bedside. He seemed to be thinking about something wonderful, with the corner of his lips raised and a dreamy expression. Between his lips, he murmured a name: "Isabel."

These two words were like a hammer, fiercely striking Isabel’s head, causing her mind to go blank in an instant, and a hallucination-like noise appeared in her ears.

Percy Stanton was actually the CEO of Thompson Empire Group.

The man she fell in love with at first sight in Starhaven University six years ago, the man she signed a paper contract with after returning to the country, the man who confessed his love to her time and time again, was actually the CEO of Thompson Empire Group!

Isabel suddenly didn’t know whether to cry or laugh!

Actually, Isabel wanted to laugh more. She chose George Vincent for money, and she didn’t go with him for fear that her deep-rooted hatred would involve him.

And the result?

The stocks she wanted were negligible and not worth mentioning for him.

However, it was those very things that made her suffocate.

Isabel looked at Percy’s gorgeous face that made the world lose its color and thought about the wealth and nobility behind him that amazed the world. She suddenly felt weak all over and collapsed on the ground without paying attention to her legs.

...

When Percy woke up from his dream, he didn’t rush to open his eyes, but reached out and felt for something next to him. He noticed that the quilt beside him was a bit cold, and suddenly opened his eyes, only to see the empty hotel with no one around.

Percy called out, "Isabel?"

No one answered.

He frowned, wrapped himself casually in a quilt, and went from the bedroom to the bathroom, and then from the bathroom to the living room outside. After going around, he still didn’t see Isabel’s figure.

It was then that Percy quickly ran back to the bedroom and found that Isabel’s suitcase was gone.

Percy quickly walked to the hotel’s landline, dialed Isabel Smith’s phone number, and was prompted with a shutdown message. He then called Tony Williams: "Tony, help me check where Isabel Smith is now?"

Without hanging up the phone, Percy held the phone, waiting while pacing back and forth in the house. In the end, he stopped in front of the tea table in the bedroom, and his eyes were fixed on a piece of white paper pressed by a glass on the tea table.

Percy leaned down, took out the white paper, and saw it was a check with an amount written: 18,500,000.

The signature below: Isabel Smith.

Percy stared at the check, frowning hard, and then glanced at a necklace lying quietly beside the glass.

That necklace was all too familiar to him.

He pursed his lips, hesitated for a long time before reaching out his hand and picking up the necklace as well. Then he heard Tony’s voice coming from the phone: "Mr. Stanton, Miss Smith boarded a flight to Bellshire an hour ago and has left."

Without thinking, Percy raised his hand and slammed the phone hard on the ground. Finding it not enough to vent his anger, he stomped on the tea table in front of him with a heavy kick.

How dared this damn woman, Isabel Smith, just leave like this?

The angrier Percy thought about it, the more he picked up the clothes on the ground and strode out of the Hyatt Grand Hotel.

...

As soon as Isabel got off the plane and turned on her phone, Percy’s call came through.

She didn’t think twice and cut it off immediately.

Thousands of miles away, Percy sprang to his feet from the sofa. Well, Isabel, how dare she not even answer his call now?

Without any hesitation, Percy dialed Isabel’s number again. This time, it didn’t get cut off as quickly as before, but it was hung up after a few seconds.
