Chapter 519: Chapter 535 How long until you remember me? (10)

Evelyn Osbert felt like she was going insane. She coldly smiled at Isabel Smith and said, "Isabel, is your so-called job in Ravenwood City to keep an ill-mannered child company?"

Ill-mannered?

Upon hearing these words, Isabel frowned, and her face became somewhat cold. "Whether someone is ill-mannered depends on what kind of person the other party is, Evelyn Osbert. I think you, being an adult, should understand this."

"Exactly!" Although Raymond Thompson was young, he could tell Evelyn was hostile towards Isabel. After Isabel finished speaking, he immediately nodded in agreement and said, "Sister Isabel is right. You are the kind of person that doesn’t deserve my courtesy."

Evelyn’s face turned a shade of green with anger. She snorted and looked at Isabel with the intention of quickly resolving the matter and leaving. "Isabel Smith, I’m not in a good mood today and don’t have time to waste with you here. As for the clothes he dirtied, you can see what brand I wear, so either he or you should pay the compensation!"

Isabel glanced at the conspicuous stain on Evelyn’s white mink coat and noticed that many people around them were watching. She did not want to make a scene, especially in front of Raymond, so she lowered her eyes, intending to take out her bank card and give it to Evelyn. However, just as she was about to hand over the card, she heard Evelyn mutter while wiping the stain on her clothes, "Such an ill-mannered child!"

Isabel’s fingers paused for a moment, and she quickly put the card back in her wallet. She then took out two hundred-dollar bills and a fifty-dollar bill and handed them to Evelyn.

Evelyn looked at the 250 dollars Isabel handed her, frowned, and asked shrilly, "Isabel Smith, what do you mean?"

Two hundred and fifty dollars? It was a joke! Even a single button on her coat would cost more than that.

"Don’t you understand?" Isabel held up the 250 dollars and stuffed it into Evelyn’s hand. Staring into her eyes, she said deliberately, "It means that you are truly worthy of being called a 250!"

Raymond suddenly understood what Isabel meant and covered his mouth, giggling. In a low voice, he said to Isabel, "Sister Isabel, she’s so stupid! She doesn’t even realize she’s being insulted. Now I finally understand what my father meant when he described someone as ’brain-dead’!"

Although Raymond’s voice was low, Evelyn heard every word. Grinding her teeth, she glared at Raymond and said fiercely, "Who are you calling brain-dead? You’re the one who’s brain-dead!"

Evelyn then raised her hand and threw the 250 dollars Isabel had given her back at Raymond, saying, "Stop beating around the bush and just insult me directly. Do you think I care about this petty cash?"

"Evelyn Osbert, when Raymond called you brain-dead, he was right! You’re even petty with a child! You’re so shameless!" Watching the three notes flutter to the ground, Isabel chuckled and mocked her.

Raymond looked up and saw the money falling to the ground. He let go of Isabel’s hand, walked forward two steps, squatted down, picked up the three bills, and then rolled them up and put them in his pocket.

Upon hearing Isabel’s words, Evelyn’s chest heaved with anger. She didn’t even think before raising her hand and fiercely slapping Isabel’s face.

Isabel’s ankle was injured, and it was inconvenient for her to move. Unable to dodge Evelyn’s slap in time, Isabel thought she was done for. Instinctively, she covered Raymond’s eyes with her hand and closed her own eyes in anticipation of the blow.
