Chapter 518: Chapter 534 How long until you remember me? (9)

"It’s okay, my foot doesn’t hurt too much now," Isabel reassured.

"Really?" Percy asked.

"Yes, much better." Looking around, Isabel saw many people sipping their drinks and asked Percy, "Are you thirsty, Percy?"

Percy licked his slightly dry lips and shook his head.

Isabel stayed silent, pulled out some cash from her bag and passed it to Percy. "Why don’t you go buy something to drink?"

Percy thought for a moment before instructing somewhat worriedly, "Then you must wait here for me and don’t go anywhere."

"Okay."

Looking at the cash in Isabel’s hand, Percy cheekily said, touching his pocket, "Sister Isabel, I have money. I should treat you."

Having said that, Percy trotted off towards the rest stop’s store.

Isabel watched as Percy’s small figure disappeared through the shop door. After waiting for several minutes, she saw Percy emerge carrying two cups of piping hot Chatime milk teas.

Percy, afraid Isabel would be impatient, walked a bit too fast and accidentally bumped into a woman wearing a luxurious white mink coat and hat.

The milk tea splashed onto the woman’s coat from the collision.

Before Percy could speak, the woman let out a sharp exclamation, "Oh my!"

This drew the attention of many people nearby.

Isabel saw this from her seat and immediately rose, limping over on her injured foot despite the pain it caused.

The woman, decked out in mink, grumbled under her breath as she pulled out some tissues from her bag and began wiping down her stained coat.

With her face obscured by the brim of her hat, Isabel failed to recognize her and asked Percy, "Did you get burned?"

Percy shook his head.

Still concerned, Isabel checked Percy over once more before saying, "Percy, go apologize to the pretty lady."

The woman in the mink coat paused, lifted her head, and called out coldly, "Isabel Smith?"

Upon hearing this familiar tone, Isabel frowned, looked up, and thought to herself, "Small world, isn’t it? What is Evelyn Osbert doing here?"

Percy opened his wide eyes, darting his gaze brows three times, then pulled at Isabel’s sleeve and said earnestly, "Sister Isabel, this person isn’t pretty at all. And ’pretty lady’ isn’t an insult, you used it wrong!"

Isabel initially hadn’t recognized Evelyn, which was why she had referred to her as a "pretty lady". When she finally recognized Evelyn, she regretted her choice of words. But Percy’s candid comment unexpectedly drew a chuckle from her.

Evelyn Osbert had just endured a full night of interrogation at the Public Security Bureau before being released. The thought of Percy Stanton, the CEO of Thompson Empire Group, had left her upset for days on end. Unable to keep up this negative state any longer, she flew over to Ravenwood city on impulse that morning.

Unfamiliar with the sights of Ravenwood City, she’d hopped onto a tour bus from the airport and made her way to Redleaf Manor. Originally, she’d wanted to book a room at the guesthouse tower in Redleaf Manor but was informed that there were no vacant rooms. Feeling her luck couldn’t get any worse, she took the time to doll herself up a bit, planning to clear her head with a hike. As fate would have it, a little boy had managed to leave her coat in ruins before she’d even started her hike, only for her to then run into Isabel Smith.

Evelyn’s patience had worn thin, so when she spoke, her tone wasn’t pleasant. But then, she ended up being mocked by a child!
