Chapter 511: Chapter 527 How long until you remember me? (2)
Isabel Smith was taken aback, then she heard Percy Stanton say, "Didn’t we agree to go to Redleaf Manor today? Don’t tell me you forgot?"
Isabel suddenly remembered that Percy had indeed mentioned taking her to explore Ravenwood City when they talked yesterday afternoon, and Redleaf Manor seemed to be part of the plan.
Isabel glanced at the bright sunlight outside the window and said bashfully, "No, I’ll be right down."
After hanging up the phone, Isabel quickly washed up and packed her bags. She picked up her mobile phone, hesitated to turn it on, and eventually left it untouched. She grabbed her room card and went straight downstairs.
Once she got in the car, Raymond Thompson handed her a paper bag. Inside were warm soy milk and fried dough sticks.
...
It took more than two hours to drive from the city center of Ravenwood City to Redleaf Manor, as it was quite a distance away.
Percy had booked a family suite at Redleaf Manor, which consisted of two bedrooms, a living room, and a separate kitchen.
There was a wide variety of fresh food in the kitchen refrigerator, along with a recipe book.
For lunch, the three of them ate at Redleaf Manor’s restaurant. The restaurant was quite empty, and they could see a huge fish pond through the window. Many people were gathered around, fishing.
When the waiter served the food, Isabel curiously asked, "How do they catch those fish?"
"Miss, that’s a new project we’ve developed. Most of our guests are families on vacation. They’ll catch the fresh fish to take back to their rooms and cook themselves, but they can also have our restaurant prepare it," the waiter explained.
After the waiter left, Isabel thought about their recent meals eaten out and suggested, "Why don’t we go fishing later and cook our own dinner tonight?"
Isabel, Percy, and Raymond sat by the fish pond with their fishing hooks, motionless and feeling no cold as they enjoyed the sunshine.
Isabel enjoyed fishing but didn’t want to deal with baiting the hook. Raymond tried to imitate Isabel’s fishing technique but was also inexperienced with baiting, so Percy had to handle it.
Raymond was actually doing quite well, as he simply sat there all afternoon, watching his fishhook dangle in the pond. Isabel, on the other hand, had exceptionally good luck and would catch a fish from time to time. Each time, she would naturally hand the hook over to Percy, causing some of his catches to escape because he was interrupted by Isabel.
As a result, Isabel caught several dozen fish throughout the afternoon, while Percy’s bucket remained empty. It wasn’t until the end that Raymond finally excitably hooked and caught a small fish. He wanted to brag about his catch to Isabel, but when he saw the multitude of fish swimming around in her bucket, Raymond couldn’t help but stare at his own little fish and zip his mouth shut.
Isabel, with her keen eye, noticed Raymond’s disappointment and realized that they couldn’t possibly eat all those fish. She scooped out one fish from her bucket and released the rest back into the pond. Facing Raymond, she said, "Raymond, look, I have the same amount of fish as you. How about tonight we just eat these two?"
Raymond, now five years old, couldn’t be so easily appeased anymore, and his face still showed signs of embarrassment.
Isabel came up with another idea, saying to Raymond, "You’re much better than your father. He didn’t catch a single fish!"
Upon hearing this, Percy glared at Isabel – this woman really knew how to tease!
Ignoring Percy’s expression, Isabel pulled Raymond along and pointed at Percy’s empty bucket, saying, "Look, completely empty. He didn’t even manage to catch a fish scale."
Seeing that he wasn’t the last one, Raymond’s face instantly brightened up, and he happily said to Isabel, "Sister Isabel, you’re so amazing!"
