Chapter 505: Chapter 521: So It Was Him (26)
Raymond Thompson cheered and quickly dashed to the entrance hall, randomly put on a pair of shoes, tiptoed to grab Percy Stanton’s car keys from the shelf, and ran out first.
By the time Percy Stanton leisurely walked out of the house, Raymond had already driven the car, sitting in the child’s seat with his seatbelt fastened. He stuck his little head out of the car window and urged him excitedly, "Father, hurry up!"
Percy tugged at the corner of his mouth, ignored his impatient son, quickly got into the car, and stepped on the gas pedal without waiting for the servant to come out and ask if they were coming back for lunch today. The car shot out of the Thompson Family Estate.
...
Isabel Smith was shopping at a mall run by Thompson Empire Group, which featured many international luxury brands.
The ten-story building had huge floor space on each level. It took Isabel until 12 pm to shop through just two floors.
At first, Percy planned to call Isabel when he received John Quincy’s phone call. However, thinking it would be less romantic, he simply decided to take Raymond to the mall for an encounter to demonstrate their fate.
So, Percy took Raymond to the mall, and they started browsing the first floor. With little interest in cosmetics and jewelry for either, they quickly moved to the second floor.
At the second-floor elevator exit, there was a cold drink shop. Raymond pointed at the Haagen-Dazs logo and said, "Father, I want to eat ice cream."
Percy gave Raymond money, who then excitedly bought a box of ice cream, ate it while following Percy on a casual stroll through the second floor, and then went to the third floor.
The third floor was for women’s clothing, which neither of them needed. So, Raymond pointed to the elevator going to the fourth floor, saying, "Father, men’s clothing is on the fifth floor."
Percy ignored Raymond and headed to the women’s clothing area.
Raymond hurriedly followed Percy, asking, "Father, who are you buying clothes for?"
Percy still ignored Raymond, looking around for Isabel Smith.
Raymond couldn’t stand the silence and continued asking Percy questions. Finally, Raymond stopped talking altogether.
Percy enjoyed the quiet and focused on finding Isabel in the crowd, hoping for a romantic "chance encounter."
As they passed the restroom, Raymond suddenly stopped and grabbed Percy’s clothes, "Father, I want to go to the restroom."
"Hmm, go ahead, hurry up."
Before entering the restroom, Raymond added, "Father, I need to do a big one."
Percy frowned, feeling it was a mistake to have dragged Raymond along for this unceremonious encounter, but nodded in approval.
Only then did Raymond quickly run into the restroom.
While waiting for Raymond outside the restroom, Percy watched the passersby. About three minutes later, he spotted a familiar figure in a store opposite him.
The woman wore a goose-yellow coat with a dark blue wool skirt underneath, matched with high heels. She was inside the store selecting clothes.
Percy blinked forcefully for a moment, thinking that he saw wrong. Soon, he found Isabel Smith still standing gracefully across him and hurried towards her.
The mall was not crowded, and Percy quickly approached her. However, when he reached the store where Isabel was, she had disappeared.
