Chapter 501: Chapter 517: So It’s Him (22)

Evelyn Osbert stared at Percy Stanton with tear-filled eyes, watching him take one step at a time until he was right in front of her.

Percy Stanton stopped half a meter in front of Evelyn and only then slowly lowered his gaze, letting it coldly sweep across Evelyn’s eyes before leaning in closer to her face.

Because of Percy’s sudden approach, the unique faint scent of a man’s body enveloped Evelyn’s nostrils, causing her to tense up, her body experiencing an indescribable restlessness.

She wasn’t sure whether she was excited because this man was handsome or because he was wealthy.

All she knew was that her heart rate began to speed up, and her cheeks gradually turned red.

"Huh..." Percy stared at Evelyn’s progressively reddening cheeks before suddenly laughing, filled with mockery.

Evelyn instinctively raised her head and saw the thick sarcasm dancing in the depths of Percy’s eyes.

The surge of excitement climbing up from the bottom of her heart just now had instantly vanished by more than half.

However, Percy lowered his voice and whispered in her ear so that only he, Evelyn, and Tony could hear, "Miss, enemies and lovers are not the same. Lovers cannot be controlled, but enemies can be chosen. And clearly, Miss, you are not good at choosing enemies."

Finishing, Percy laughed lightly, his tone becoming somewhat harsh, "And you, to me, are hardly an enemy. You are not worthy, at most you are just a..."

Percy looked Evelyn up and down before opening and closing his thin lips and spat out three words, "Cheap—Little—Person!"

After that, Percy sneered, turned around, and walked towards his car.

Tony stood still, not in a hurry to move, but instead looked at Evelyn with a teasing smile, "There are some people you can never mess with, but unfortunately, you chose to mess with them. I really don’t know if it’s because you overestimate yourself or underestimate others."

Tony clearly had an expression of genuinely kind advice, but somehow, when combined with his words, it seemed to carry a hint of schadenfreude.

After finishing, he looked at Evelyn’s alternating pale and pale-green expression and followed Percy excitedly, opening the car door for him first.

...

When Isabel Smith’s flight landed in Ravenwood City, it was only 9:30 in the morning. She took a taxi, heading towards the city center while googling hotels in Ravenwood City. Eventually, she chose the "Hyatt" Grand Restaurant.

It was only 10 A.M. when she arrived at the hotel, and she thought that the engagement banquet at Bellshire Grand Hotel should be bustling by now.

Originally, her mood lightened after leaving Bellshire City, but it had now turned somewhat gloomy again. Isabel shook her head fiercely, trying to eliminate the annoying thoughts in her mind. Then, she went to take a hot bath and laid down on the soft hotel bed to catch up on sleep.

...

When Percy arrived in Ravenwood City from Bellshire with his son and assistant, it was already 8 PM. As soon as he got off the airplane, he took out his mobile phone, turned it on, and called Isabel Smith.

The limousine service the Thompson Empire Group sent to pick them up had already been waiting at the airport entrance. When the driver saw the three of them coming out of the crowd, he quickly went up to greet them, respectfully taking the luggage from Tony’s hand and saying, "Mr. Stanton, Young Master."

Percy nodded and continued to press the call button, once again for Isabel Smith.

This was the seventh phone call he made to Isabel, and it was still turned off.

Percy looked at the already opened car door and Raymond Thompson who had climbed inside. He put away his phone, placed it in his pocket, and got in the car.
