Chapter 461: Chapter 477: You Promised I Still Have You (19)

After saying that, Percy called the attendant over, paid the bill, and then turned his head, giving Isabel a warm smile, saying, "Let’s go."

Too many things happened tonight. By now, Isabel knew all of it was true, but she was still struggling to digest it all. So, on the way home, there wasn’t much conversation between her and Percy.

Isabel sat in the passenger seat, lost in her thoughts, while Percy seemed to focus on driving, with his own thoughts as well.

It wasn’t until they reached the underground parking lot below their apartment building that Percy said to Isabel, "We’re here. You can get out."

Isabel didn’t speak, just opened the car door, got out, and the two of them continued to enter the elevator without speaking and went upstairs.

When Isabel reached her apartment’s doorstep, took out the key, opened the door, and was about to step inside, Percy suddenly called out to her, "Isabel."

Isabel turned around and looked at Percy.

Percy said, "Isabel, whether you agree or not, I won’t give up. Today is just the beginning."

Isabel’s lips moved slightly, but she didn’t say anything.

Percy’s eyes were bright, and his smile was dazzling. He didn’t seem to care about Isabel’s silence, as his thin, red lips continued to move under the dim yellow light. His gentle voice passed through the spacious and quiet corridor, saying, "This, actually, is not a confession. This is a notification."

Isabel furrowed her brows, her eyes showing confusion, "What are you notifying me about?"

He paused, his smile gentle and charming, even his usually unapproachable handsome face was tinted with a soft color, "My beloved woman, Miss Isabel... I really want to keep you by my side seriously."

Isabel fell silent once again.

Percy looked at her peacefully, his face calm, "Good night, Isabel."

It was then that Isabel nodded softly and slowly walked into her apartment, paused, and closed the door behind her.

...

During the night, before Percy confessed his feelings, his heart was restless and sleepless. However, after laying all his cards on the table, he felt an indescribable sense of calmness as if he had set a goal for his love, a goal that would never change for the rest of his life. Maybe people are like this, once they have a direction, they won’t be affected by trivial matters. Therefore, Percy slept extremely soundly, waking up naturally after a long time of not having such a good sleep.

Isabel, on the other hand, did not have such a good night’s sleep. It’s true that unrequited love is a problem one gives to themselves. Choosing whether or not to confess is a dilemma, but confessing means giving the problem to the other person, leaving them with a choice of whether or not to accept it.

The only time in her life when Isabel had to choose between right or wrong was during her school days, facing the correct answers to her friends’ homework. These were straightforward results that didn’t require her to hesitate or second-guess herself. All she had to do was make the right choice.

Even if she didn’t know the answer, she could still make a blind guess.

When people grow up, they face many strange choices in life. It’s only then that you realize there are no definitively right or wrong answers, and you can’t simply close your eyes and guess.

Whether she should accept Percy’s feelings or not really troubled Isabel.

So, Isabel spent the entire night tossing and turning, unable to sleep. The next morning, she woke up early, standing on the balcony, watching the sun rise, her emotions still churning within her.

On one hand, there was her first love, and on the other hand, her life. One side was fantasy, and the other was reality. All she needed was to be a little less rational, and she could follow her heart into a new and happy life, fulfilling her long-held dream - to find a man, start a family with him, not necessarily have children, but at least have a child to carry on their legacy.
