Chapter 456: Chapter 472: You Promised I Still Have You (14)

Isabel Smith’s heart raced as she listened, slowly turned her head, just as Percy Stanton’s gaze met hers. Subconsciously, she wanted to avoid his eyes, but suddenly, Percy raised his hand and grasped hers.

His palm was burning hot, searing straight into Isabel’s heart. Instinctively, she wanted to pull her hand away, but Percy only gripped it tighter.

With a stubborn, domineering attitude.

Isabel’s heart followed, pounding rapidly.

She opened her mouth and stood up, habitually making an excuse to escape, saying, "Percy, I want to use the restroom."

However, the moment she stood up, Percy suddenly pulled her into his arms with a forceful embrace.

Isabel’s head collided with Percy’s chest. The familiar, elegant scent of him filled her nostrils, leaving her head reeling. His heartbeat, rapid and strong, echoed in her ears, making her entire body forget to breathe.

On the big screen in the distance, "A Tale Odyssey" had reached the part where Lady Purple Cloud entered the King of Monkey’s heart, curious to see who he truly loved.

From above Isabel’s head, Percy’s voice slowly came, "Isabel, is it really that comfortable to pretend you don’t know the truth?"

Isabel never expected her disguise to be so fragile and easily seen through by Percy. In his arms, she opened her mouth, then raised her hand and pushed against his chest, gently separating herself while forcing out a laugh, "No... I’m not pretending, I really need to go to the restroom."

This time, before Isabel could finish her words, her lips were suddenly silenced by Percy.

Her eyes widen in surprise, and then she felt the man’s warm and soft lips caress her own. His moist tongue gently pried open her teeth, gliding into her mouth and slowly licking the insides, leaving nothing untouched.

He kissed her so painstakingly, so thoroughly, as if nothing else in the world existed.

Dialogue from "A Tale Odyssey" reached Isabel’s ears faintly, filling the void of silence.

She felt as though she was dreaming, dazed and disoriented, before he finally released her.

His breath deepened, rhythmic and enticing as it brushed her ear.

His hand still cradled her head, his gaze solemnly locked on her eyes, where a blend of sorrow and passion swirled, forming the most heart-wrenching emotions, "Isabel, I told you before, others may see with their eyes, but I see with my heart. Many times, I wanted to confess my love to you, but you always pretended not to know and avoided me. This time, do you still want to play the same trick?"

"Before, when I didn’t know anything, I just wanted to stay by your side. I was content to just see you smile. So, I thought it didn’t matter if there were words I couldn’t say. As long as you were happy, it didn’t matter if you pretended not to know, avoided or evaded me."

"But now, I know everything, so I won’t let it happen anymore."

Isabel struggled to understand Percy’s words. As she looked into his earnest eyes, she felt her heart thrown into chaos. Even her chance to escape was gone. All she could do was gaze at him and turn her eyes away, saying, "I don’t really understand what you mean."

"You will understand someday," Percy said with absolute certainty, resolute as if he would not give her another chance to escape.

Under such serious gaze from Percy, Isabel felt flustered and restless. Her eyes darted around, finally settling on the big screen in the distance. Lady Purple Cloud was confessing her bone-deep passion to the King of Monkey, "I am powerless to resist, racing towards you."

Such simple words conveyed Lady Purple Cloud’s irremediable infatuation.
