Chapter 454: Chapter 470: You Promised I Still Have You (12)
About forty minutes later, Isabel Smith finally put down her tableware. She picked up the napkin beside her, wiped her mouth, and looked at Percy Stanton. She noticed his bowl and tableware were clean and asked, "Aren’t you eating?"
"I’ve already eaten." Percy had thought Isabel had already had dinner when he came to pick her up, so he had eaten something at home.
Isabel put the napkin in her hand onto the plate: "Let’s go."
"Let’s have a cup of tea before we leave." Percy poured a cup of tea for Isabel and handed it to her.
Isabel didn’t refuse, took it directly, and drank it unhurriedly.
It was only then that Percy called the waiter to settle the bill, and they left the Watchtower Loft together.
It was already eight o’clock in the evening. Since it had snowed heavily in the morning, the air was a bit cold, but their car was parked nearby, so they got in after just a couple of steps.
Percy drove for about 10 minutes before taking Isabel to a club.
The club was built near the Forbidden City. They took the elevator upstairs and found that the entire interior was filled with small compartments. It seemed that the people inside recognized Percy and didn’t ask any questions, but simply led him and Isabel to a seat in front of the window. The seats were side by side, facing the window, and after sitting down, they could see the magnificent Forbidden City when they looked up.
There were quite a few people in the club, and although their conversations were not loud, when gathered together, it felt somewhat chaotic.
Knowing that Isabel couldn’t drink alcohol since she recently had a miscarriage, Percy ordered her a freshly squeezed fruit juice and a low-alcohol cocktail for himself.
Isabel didn’t take the initiative to talk to Percy. She knew that he had brought her here because he had something to say to her, so there was no need for her to ask any questions.
She quietly gazed at the Forbidden City outside the window for a while, then turned her head and glanced at Percy. She found that he looked very calm, staring at the view outside with no intention of speaking.
Isabel opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end, she simply picked up the fruit juice on the table and took a sip.
At the moment when the atmosphere between the two became somewhat stagnant, a big screen on the wall of the club suddenly lit up, and a sound came from inside.
Isabel subconsciously turned her head and saw that the movie being played was one of the most familiar to her-Charlie Vincent’s "A Tale Odyssey". However, it was starting from the second half.
The hilarious movie seemed out of place in the luxurious club. Isabel couldn’t help but blurt out, "Why are they playing a movie here?"
Percy, who knew what was going on, looked Isabel in the eyes but didn’t say anything. Instead, he picked up the cocktail on the table, looked at Isabel, and asked in a low, indescribable tone, "Do you like it?"
With Percy’s reminder, Isabel finally noticed the cocktail in his hand. The upper part was blue, the lower part was pink, and the rim of the glass had a slice of lime. It looked simple and elegant, very pure.
There were many kinds of cocktails, and Isabel had seen dazzling ones and monochromatic ones, but this was the first time she had seen a cocktail like this. She couldn’t help but look at it a little longer before asking, "What’s the name of this cocktail?"
Percy acted as if he hadn’t heard her question, just staring at the glass in his hand.
On the big screen, "A Tale Odyssey" portrayed King of Monkey rescuing Crystal and accidentally ending up 500 years ago, where he met Lady Purple Cloud.
This movie was Isabel’s favorite, and she had watched it many times. Now that it was playing again, she couldn’t help but glance at the screen a few times when she heard Lady Purple Cloud’s voice.
When Isabel looked at the big screen for the fifth time, Percy’s gaze switched from his wine glass to her face. The low magnetic sound that he opened his mouth to speak maintained from just now, "First Love."
