Chapter 453: Chapter 469: You Promised I Still Have You (11)

"How did we end up in north of the city?" Percy Stanton asked Isabel Smith while driving.

Isabel was looking out the window. Hearing Percy’s voice, she turned her head to look at him and thought for a moment before saying, "Grandma asked me to meet a friend here."

Percy didn’t ask any more questions, only changing the subject: "Have you had dinner yet?"

Isabel really hadn’t eaten anything at the wedding banquet. Hearing Percy’s question now, she realized she was a bit hungry and shook her head, saying, "No."

"What do you feel like eating?"

Isabel thought Percy wanted to find a place to sit down and discuss something with her, so she raised her hand to support her chin and thought for a moment before saying, "Let’s have some local cuisine."

"Alright." Percy hesitated for a moment, then said gently, "There’s a nice local restaurant at Edeenburgh Plaza. How about that?"

Isabel had no objections and nodded her head, saying, "Okay."

Percy didn’t say anything more, just took out his mobile phone, made a phone call, and booked a table.

After hanging up, Percy glanced at Isabel Smith while smoothly driving the car, and it took quite a while before he spoke again: "What did you buy?"

Actually, he could tell from the packaging what she bought, but he just wanted to find a topic to chat with her.

Isabel was startled for a moment before realizing Percy was asking about what she had bought from Nexus Mall. She answered truthfully, "A bag."

"A wallet? Or a backpack?"

"A handbag."

"A big one?"

"Yes."

The two of them chatted about trivial matters along the way, occasionally stopping in the middle of the conversation, and eventually arrived at the Edeenburgh Restaurant.

The restaurant had a nice name - Watchtower Loft.

Percy and Isabel walked in together, and their reserved seating area was a beautiful, small private room, surrounded by black marble walls. Seated in their chairs, they could clearly see their reflections in the marble.

Percy pulled out a stool first, and only after seeing Isabel sit down did he sit opposite her. Then he called the attendant over, asked for the menu, and handed it to Isabel.

Isabel didn’t refuse, she directly opened the menu, ordered a few appetizing dishes, and then passed the menu to Percy: "What would you like to eat?"

Percy didn’t even look at the menu, just ordered a pot of tea, and then returned the menu to the attendant: "Please hurry a bit."

Perhaps it was Percy’s request that expedited their order, and within 10 minutes, all the dishes Isabel ordered were served.

Isabel was indeed hungry. As soon as the dishes arrived, she didn’t wait for Percy to start a conversation and began eating.

Percy didn’t move his tableware much, just held his teacup and sipped his tea, his eyes fixed on Isabel.

After eating for a while and no longer feeling hungry, Isabel looked up at Percy and saw him staring at her. She pursed her lips and asked, "You wanted to talk to me about something, didn’t you?"

Percy gently shook his teacup, blinked his eyes, and said, "Let’s finish eating and talk somewhere else."

"Alright." Isabel nodded her head and picked up her utensils, continuing to eat quietly.

She ate very carefully, neither too fast nor too slow, chewing each grain of rice very seriously, unaffected by the suspense created by Percy’s silence.

Isabel was actually curious deep down, but she knew that she would find out eventually. During this time, she had realized some things. It was important to be good to herself, as only she could guarantee that she would treat herself the best. So now, hungry as she was, she focused on filling her stomach first. She was no longer the naive Isabel from before - the one who neglected eating and sleeping, suffering through sleepless nights for the sake of others and their issues.
