Pausing for a moment, he added, "If you don’t want the hassle, you can just throw it in the car."

Isabel Smith’s sternness finally weakened. She lifted her eyelids and looked at Percy Stanton. Her face was still expressionless.

Just with that one look, Percy Stanton breathed a sigh of relief. At least she would look at him, indicating that he wasn’t completely beyond redemption, right?

He knew that winning Isabel Smith’s heart would require patience and effort.

Percy Stanton stood by the car door, staring at Isabel Smith for a while before closing the door and returning to the driver’s seat.

Isabel Smith was quite hungry, and as she opened the snack bag, she found the car light was on. Percy Stanton quickly turned on the inside car light for her to better see her food. Startled by his thoughtfulness, she noticed that all her favorite snacks were inside the bag. Then, she couldn’t help but look out the car window, which, with the car light on and dark tinting, looked like a mirror. She saw various little trinkets on the co-pilot seat.

Those little trinkets were the same intriguing and fascinating things she had picked up and looked at during their trip to the temple.

For a moment, Isabel Smith felt a surge of emotions deep within, twisting into an indescribable taste.

She stared at the reflection on the car window for a long time until Percy Stanton, who was driving, noticed something strange. He glanced over subtly and then followed Isabel Smith’s gaze, a hint of embarrassment creeping onto his handsome face.

He had forgotten all about those little things he had bought. While following her during their visit to the temple, he saw her picking up those trinkets, looking very interested but then putting them down every time after asking the seller a couple of questions.

He had gone after her, picking up the trinkets she had touched, feeling the warmth of her fingertips, and then couldn’t help himself from buying and collecting them all.

As Isabel Smith’s gaze left the window and met Percy Stanton’s, his face was still somewhat embarrassed. He cleared his throat, stretched out a hand, and haphazardly put all the trinkets on the co-pilot seat into a bag. Then he handed it over to Isabel Smith, saying, "I bought them for you because I saw you liked them."
