Elijah Smith looked at a worried Isabel Smith and felt a bit choked up. Elijah Smith suddenly let go of Isabel Smith’s foot and curled up, pretending to be pitiful as he looked at Isabel Smith, "I’m so scared!"

Isabel Smith’s laughter finally subsided.

Elijah Smith then climbed next to Isabel Smith, staring at her radiant smiling face, and said, "Isabel Smith, actually, you’re not particularly ugly. Occasionally, when you smile, you can barely pass as presentable."

Isabel Smith raised her hand and heavily slapped Elijah Smith’s head.

Elijah Smith’s head dropped heavily before he lifted it, rubbing his head and muttered, "Isabel Smith, do you even know what ’ladylike’ means!"

Isabel Smith disdainfully snorted.

The next second, Elijah Smith raised his hand and touched Isabel Smith’s swollen cheek, his tone becoming serious, "Does it hurt?"

Isabel Smith hesitated for a while before shaking her head, and leaned on Elijah Smith’s shoulder, closing her eyes tiredly, "No."

Elijah Smith moved his lips as if he wanted to say something but ended up saying, "If you’re tired, just sleep."

"Hmm." Isabel Smith softly agreed, feeling warm in her heart. She laid her head on Elijah Smith’s shoulder, relaxing completely, and fell asleep soon after.

Elijah Smith looked at Isabel Smith’s peaceful sleep, and his eyes, which were originally lazy, suddenly turned cold. He thought to himself that if he ever caught Joseph Wood one day, he wouldn’t spare him!
