Chapter 400: Chapter 414: Overestimating Oneself, Underestimating Love (16)
After Percy Stanton finished speaking, he quickly withdrew his hand.
The woman stared at Percy, her face turning pale then red, pursed her lips, and angrily left a sentence: "You just wait!"
Then she turned around and left.
Not half a minute went by when Percy’s shoulder was tapped lightly. He turned to see several tall men looking at him provocatively, pointing to the woman he had just scolded, asking, "Did you bully her?"
Percy shrugged and did not deny it.
In the next second, those men surrounded Percy, ready to start a fight.
The waiter at the bar saw the scene, immediately took out his mobile phone, and called the manager.
The manager happened to be with Thomas Quincy, so they came over together. Once they saw that the person being surrounded was Percy, Thomas rushed in without a word, and kicked the face of the man right in front of Percy.
The original plan was just to intimidate Percy into apologizing, but Thomas’s sudden kick escalated the fight.
Percy, although drunk, was still quick on his feet. As members of the Thompson Empire Group, they had been specially trained from a young age. These men were no match for them. In the end, Percy and Thomas emerged victoriously!
The fight accelerated the spread of alcohol inside Percy’s body. While washing the blood off their hands in the restroom with Thomas, Percy suddenly felt dizzy, and somewhat unsteadily pointed outside, saying, "I can’t take it anymore, I have to go back."
Thomas didn’t trust Percy to be alone, so he took some paper tissues, dried his hands, and left "The Royal Palace" with Percy propped on his arm.
When Thomas drove Percy back to the Thompson Family Estate, it was already 11 PM. Everyone in the mansion was already asleep. The European-style street lights outside were lighting the entire estate, and the water continuously gushed out from the water fountain in the middle. The mermaid in the center held a glazed bead in her palm, which emitted a faint orange glow.
Thomas supporting Percy, confidently walked into the European-style castle. The lamps in the Great Hall were brightly lit, and the walls were adorned with precious oil paintings.
Thomas originally planned to take Percy straight back to his bedroom, but perhaps due to Bellshire’s influence over Raymond Thompson for five years, he formed a habit. Even though he was extremely drunk, he still insisted on going into Raymond’s room. He only left after seeing that Raymond was sleeping soundly, and stumbled back to his own bedroom.
Lying on the bed, Percy didn’t want to move. Thomas looked at Percy’s un-removed shoes and wrinkled clothes, frowned, and finally rolled up his sleeves to help Percy take them off.
As Thomas was covering Percy with the quilt, he heard Percy muttering something. Thomas listened more closely, but Percy stopped talking.
Thomas curled his lips, placed the quilt over Percy, and turned to leave. Suddenly, Percy reached out his hand, grabbed his wrist, and the sound of his voice increased a little: "Deeply... "
Percy’s tone was low and murmuring, and due to his drunkenness, he lacked his usual arrogance and coldness. It sounded genuine, revealing a deep sense of helplessness and despair.
Thomas knew that deep love was just a name, but he could hear the heartache and suffering that Percy had been suppressing for the last few days.
Thomas’s heart softened involuntarily, and a gentle sentiment rose from deep within. Unconsciously forgetting to leave, he stood by the bed, staring at the man lying on it.
Then Percy didn’t say anything else; but from the corner of his eye, he saw clear, bright tears rolling down his face.
