The afternoon meeting proceeded as usual, and Isabel Smith’s face looked especially terrible. After the meeting, Secretary Emille asked her with concern, "CEO Smith, you seem to have a poor complexion. Are you feeling unwell?"

"It’s nothing." Isabel raised her hand and rubbed her temples, trying to make herself slightly more alert. She then smiled and said, "It’s getting late, everyone should go home early from work, as tomorrow is the start of the New Year’s Day holiday."

For the working employees, the three-day New Year’s holiday is indeed a great time. Everyone happily stood up and waved goodbye to Isabel after hearing her words.

Isabel didn’t rush to go home and sat in the conference room for a while before returning to her office with her documents.

Since Percy Stanton left, many things in the department needed Isabel’s attention. She had studied history in college and had no background in economics or business management. She used to ask Percy directly when she didn’t understand something, but now she had to look for information on the internet and figure it out all by herself.

Probably because she hadn’t eaten much all day, Isabel was very hungry in the evening. She ordered KFC takeout without feeling any nausea or vomiting and ate quite a lot.

Regardless, she decided to buy a pregnancy test stick and try it out. If it turns out negative, she would have peace of mind instead of being in constant fear.

With that thought, Isabel turned around and went back into the pharmacy.

Although Isabel had had a child, she had never bought such items before. So, when Miss Pharmacy asked her kindly, "What do you need?" Isabel’s face turned red instantly. She looked around, and only after a person nearby left did she say, "Please give me a pregnancy test stick."

"Do you want the pregnancy test paper or the early pregnancy test?"

Isabel was stunned for a moment.

Seeing that Isabel didn’t understand, Miss Pharmacy further explained, "The early pregnancy test is more accurate and relatively easier to use than the pregnancy test paper."

"Then give me that, please."

"Sure, that would be 30.5 dollars in total."

Isabel took out the money from her wallet and waited as Miss Pharmacy gave her the change and an early pregnancy test.

Isabel put the early pregnancy test into her bag, feeling quite pressured as she left the pharmacy. She continued walking for a while before hailing a taxi to go home.
