Over the past three days, Percy Stanton’s life had been neither particularly good nor bad. He was busy, after all, after living in Bellshire for so many years, he realized he had many matters to attend to before he left.

It wasn’t until the third day in the afternoon that he managed to sort everything out, including deregistering Raymond Thompson from kindergarten.

That night when he returned home, he booked his plane ticket for the next evening, then began packing the items he needed to take back with him to Ravenwood City.

Initially, Percy Stanton thought it would be difficult to sort through everything, but when he actually started packing, he found there was little he needed to take with him.

He didn’t need to bring the furniture or clothes. The ones back in Ravenwood City were thousands of times better. The only things he needed to bring were a few scattered possessions that he couldn’t be without.

Finally, while he was sorting things out, Percy Stanton discovered the engagement ring he bought for Isabel Smith and the unopened Christmas gift she gave him.

He stared at the gift for a while before tearing off the wrapping paper. Inside was a dainty and beautiful tie clip, inlaid with a diamond. It was not gaudy, but it was eye-catching, much like him.

Percy Stanton kept looking at the gift for quite some time before he put it back in the box and threw it in the bag of items he had decided to take back to Ravenwood City.

That night, Isabel Smith went to bed late. She dreamt so much, she was unsure if it was all due to her thirst. In one of her dreams, a chubby little dumpling appeared before her. It rolled around in an adorable manner. When she lifted her hand to grab it, it rolled right into her embrace, innocently calling, "Mummy."

Isabel Smith was shocked awake by this absurd vision. A dumpling calling her mummy? What kind of messy and nonsensical dream was this?

After complaining a bit, Isabel Smith lifted her head and saw it was already bright outside. She looked at the time and realized she was about to be late for work, so she immediately jumped off the bed and went to get ready.

Maybe she had moved too quickly, but this made her feel slightly dizzy. It took her a long time to recover.

As it was the peak period for commuting, the roads were jammed. Isabel went downstairs and decided to take the subway to work.

Next to her sat a young couple sharing a cup of milk, taking intimate, alternating sips from it.

Suddenly, the woman leaned over to her partner’s ear and anxiously whispered, "Darling, I haven’t had my period in a long time. Do you think I might be pregnant from that time when we didn’t use any protection?"

"But wasn’t that day safe? Usually, you wouldn’t get pregnant on your safe day!"

"What if I did? It could happen even on a safe day, and some people even get pregnant while using condoms!"

Isabel didn’t mean to eavesdrop on the couple’s conversation, but they were speaking quite loudly. She couldn’t help but burst out laughing at the girl’s last line.

The conversation ceased for a moment as the couple turned to look at Isabel, embarrassedly smiling at her.

Caught laughing, Isabel felt slightly embarrassed. She returned a couple of polite laughs and turned her head. Not long after, she realized she hadn’t had her period for some time either!

Isabel’s periods weren’t particularly regular. There were times when it would show up ten days or even half a month later than usual.
