Chapter 370: Chapter 384: Proposal Gift (18)

Percy Stanton stood still, furrowing his brow and said nothing.

Raymond Thompson rolled his eyes and continued to plead cutely: "Father, can you help me out?"

Percy glanced at the fireworks Raymond was holding and answered without hesitation: "No."

Raymond’s face fell immediately, he looked at Percy with a bit of frustration, opened his mouth, and stubbornly said, "But I really can’t carry it anymore. Besides, shouldn’t a father help his son?"

"There’s also a saying, do your own thing!"

Raymond was suddenly speechless, his face turned a little red, staring at Percy’s nonchalant expression, and all of a sudden, from who knows where, he gathered the courage to protest to Percy.

Raymond threw the fireworks onto the ground with a bang, pouted, and looked at Percy with a self-perceived threatening tone, saying, "Father, I’m a child, and you’re abusing me by doing this. Child abuse is illegal, and you can’t disrespect my human rights!"

Faced with Raymond’s "threat", Percy’s expression remained completely unmoved, only looking up and down at his son, and then he opened his mouth, sounding light and airy: "Raymond, you haven’t even grown all your hair, and you don’t have an ID card. Where do you get your human rights?"

Raymond knew the word "human rights" but didn’t know it was related to having an ID card, so he just raised his tender little eyebrows and stared at Percy.

Percy found it rather boring to discuss who carried the fireworks and who didn’t with his son on Main Street, which turned into a conversation about human rights. So Percy opened his mouth impatiently, saying, "I bought the fireworks for you to play with, and you said you wanted to set them off with your Older Sister Isabel. If you don’t want to carry them, just leave them there and go home."

After saying that, Percy turned away and ignored Raymond, just walking briskly forward.

Raymond watched as Percy walked ahead with a confident stride, and for some reason, a sense of grievance welled up in his heart.

Looking around, Raymond spotted other children his age, but they were either sitting in child seats or being led by their parents.

Raymond suddenly became sentimental, feeling that he had never been treated as a child.

Don’t many ads say to take care of children and the elderly?

He was a child, but where was his privilege with his father?

Raymond stood there in distress for a while before finally bending down to pick up the fireworks, carrying them with both hands, walking towards the apartment building at a snail’s pace.

As he walked, Raymond thought, if only he had a mom. She’d definitely be gentle, holding the fireworks in one hand and his hand in the other as they went home.

Percy stood at the elevator entrance on the ground floor of the apartment building, waiting for Raymond. Once Raymond arrived, he pretended not to know Percy and looked away.

Every once in a while, Raymond would protest for "child privileges" to Percy, but Percy only had one move when dealing with Raymond’s counterattack - ignore him.

So, Percy caught Raymond’s angry little appearance from the corner of his eye without any intention of reflecting on himself, waiting for the elevator door to open before stepping inside.

Then he stood elegantly in the elevator, looking at Raymond outside.

Raymond was still a bit afraid of Percy. He wanted to protest all the way, but every time, he would yield without backbone, for a simple reason - his pocket money came from his father.

Raymond felt a little suffocated in his heart, indeed, a child without a mother is like a grass. He let out a soft sigh, then reluctantly stepped into the elevator.
