Chapter 364: Chapter 378: Proposal Gift (12)

Now that her flirtation with you has been confirmed to be just a whim and a joke, why are you still feeling heartbroken and indignant about her once being pregnant and underage?

It was only at the end that Percy realized his own uneasiness which kept him awake all night, and now he was feeling deeply uncomfortable.

It turns out that truly loving a person means genuinely caring about her past.

You will be jealous for her, feel heartache for her, and be sad for her...

He always thought that he could do better than those other men - be more considerate, respectful, and trusting... However, fantasies are always better than reality. You will only know this when you truly experience it. Those ideas you thought you could do better than others are just because you have never deeply loved anyone.

At eight o’clock, Isabel got up from her bed and walked out of the bedroom after taking a shower. She immediately saw Percy standing with his back to her in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, and after a moment, she said, "Percy, you didn’t leave?"

Hearing Isabel’s voice, Percy suddenly came back to his senses, turned his head to look at her and realized that it was already nine o’clock, and it was time to go to the company.

He pursed his lips and said, "Wait for me for a bit."

He hurried into the living room restroom, and immediately, the sound of running water came from inside.

Isabel casually sat down on the living room sofa, took out her mobile phone to kill time playing Monopoly, but as soon as she opened the app, she heard a "clang" from the bathroom.

Isabel quickly stood up and went toward the bathroom.

The bathroom door was open, and as Isabel approached, she saw Percy’s ceramic toothbrush cup shattered on the floor, and the toothbrush and toothpaste scattered everywhere.

Percy was bending down, picking up the ceramic shards from the floor.

Isabel hastily grabbed the broom, walked over, and said, "Let me do it. Be careful not to cut your hand."

Percy, as if not hearing Isabel’s words, didn’t react, and simply continued picking up the shards from the floor.

His head hung low, and Isabel couldn’t see his expression clearly, but she could sense that something was off about Percy. As she was about to step forward to help, fresh blood suddenly flowed from Percy’s hand, dripping onto the white floor.

Abandoning the broom, Isabel grabbed Percy’s hand, "It’s cut, stop picking it up, just sweep it."

Percy abruptly pulled his hand out of hers. He gave her a cold look and carried on picking up the shards on the floor with his bleeding hand.

Struck by Percy’s icy gaze, Isabel froze on the spot, motionless.

In her heart, a trace of confusion lingered, and it took her a while to confirm her initial feeling: there was definitely something wrong with Percy. But what was the cause of this?

In her memory, he had indeed been harsh to her before, but he had never looked at her with such eyes before.

That gloomy look in his eyes, which seemed to be suppressing a terrible emotion, was even more frightening than his outbursts of temper.

Isabel figured that she couldn’t have upset Percy this early in the morning, so she guessed that he had encountered some trouble.

Isabel, standing aside, opened her mouth to ask, "Percy, did you... run into any trouble?"

Percy didn’t say anything. He just threw the shards he picked up into a nearby trash can and took the showerhead, turning on the faucet to wash the fresh blood from his fingers off the floor.

But as he cleaned up, new blood kept oozing out from his fingers.
