Chapter 326: Chapter 338: Life and Death Hang in the Balance (16)
Isabel groaned in annoyance and was about to close her eyes and continue sleeping when she noticed that this room seemed somewhat different from the one she slept in yesterday.
Her eyes suddenly opened wide, her gaze sweeping around the room for a moment, and she discovered the decoration here was either black or white, with a high-end atmosphere that looked quite luxurious.
Where am I?
Isabel confusedly hugged the quilt, sat up, and then saw a photo on the bedside cabinet showing Percy and Raymond taking a group photo together. Only then did Isabel belatedly realize that she had ended up in Percy’s house and his room last night!
Isabel subconsciously jumped off the bed with bare feet, picked up her own underwear and nightgown from the ground, and quickly put them on.
Just as she put on her nightgown, the cell phone ringtone that had just stopped suddenly rang again. Isabel looked around and found Percy’s mobile phone on the tea table in the bedroom, with the screen flashing brightly.
Isabel stepped forward, but before she had time to see who was calling, Percy’s bedroom door was suddenly pushed open from outside.
Without realizing it, Isabel turned her head and heard Raymond’s childish voice, which then rang out, "Father, you’re back?"
After Raymond finished this sentence, he saw Isabel, his eyes suddenly lit up, immediately putting Percy out of mind, as if feeling that the world was particularly wonderful. He ran to Isabel, lifted his head, looked at her, and said, "Sister Isabel, how come you’re suddenly in my father’s room?"
Isabel was really embarrassed by Raymond’s question. She knew that the child wouldn’t think too much about it, but her cheeks still quickly became scorching hot. She even felt somewhat guilty and didn’t dare to look at Raymond, feeling utterly ashamed in her heart. Her unseemly contract with his father was already bad enough for him, but now she was caught red-handed?
Seeing Isabel’s blushing face, Raymond frowned, worriedly asked, "Sister Isabel, are you sick? Why is your face so red?"
Isabel felt even more guilty after Raymond’s question, wishing that she could hide in a crack in the ground. In the end, she could only brace herself and tell him a white lie, "Older sister is feeling a bit unwell. I forgot to bring my house key and wallet, so I had nowhere else to go and could only come to your house."
Although Raymond was somewhat precocious, he was still just a child and didn’t have as deep thoughts as adults. Upon hearing Isabel’s explanation, he immediately showed a trusting face and said, "So that’s how it is, Sister Isabel. Then you should often forget to bring your house key and wallet, so you can come to my house more often!"
Raymond spoke innocently and cutely, but Isabel’s heart felt particularly uncomfortable as she listened. She had deceived a five-year-old child, and this child believed every word she said without hesitation. If one day he were to learn the truth about her and his father, how would he perceive her?
As Isabel thought about it, her ears turned red as well. She wanted to smile warmly at Raymond, but it was quite forced. In the end, she could only bend down, softly saying to Raymond, "Raymond, I will take a bath first, then I will play with you, okay?"
Hearing that his Sister Isabel was going to play with him, Raymond immediately became extremely happy and excited. He nodded at Isabel and said, "Okay, Sister Isabel. I’ll wait for you!"
After speaking, Raymond, acting like a little host, pointed at the restroom in Percy’s bedroom and said, "Sister Isabel, if you don’t mind, you can use my father’s bathroom, or you can use mine if you prefer."
"Thank you, Raymond. I don’t mind, I’ll use your father’s," Isabel replied.
