Chapter 323: Chapter 335: Life and Death Hang in the Balance (13)

Percy Stanton’s silence did not make Isabel Smith feel awkward at all. She cocked her head, smiled brightly at him, and after patiently waiting for a minute, she lifted her little chin with arrogant pride and spoke again in a light, crisp voice that sounded like a songbird’s: "Percy, does your silence mean you need me to accompany you tonight?"

After saying this, Isabel laughed happily like a child, her eyes and eyebrows curving with mirth.

Percy looked into Isabel’s eyes, which were filled with complex emotions - surprise, nostalgia, excitement, and sadness were all jumbled together, hard for the drunken Isabel to understand.

It took Percy a while to suppress the turbulence in his heart. He raised his hand and pulled Isabel’s arm from around his neck. Then he adjusted her coat and said, "Isabel, stop it, go home and rest with Elijah."

Having said this, Percy glanced at Elijah Smith.

Elijah Smith stepped forward.

Isabel, however, once again reached out and hooked Percy’s arm, tiptoed slightly, and stared into his eyes, asking, "Percy, did you not understand what I meant just now?"

She was as stubborn and straightforward as she was back then.

Percy stared at Isabel but did not speak.

As before, she still did not have the habit of wearing perfume, yet a faint fragrance wafted from her.

Despite the passage of six years, Percy discovered that he was still as uncontrollably impulsive as before.

"You did understand what I meant just now, tonight, I want to sleep with you."

Isabel finished the last sentence crisply and directly, with a touch of arrogance that suggested she would not take no for an answer.

Percy frowned and said, "Isabel..."

Before he could utter another word, Isabel suddenly raised her head and sealed his lips with hers, just as she had kissed him out of the blue six years ago when he had rejected her.

She only lightly pressed her lips against his, not making any other moves. Her eyes gazed at him brightly, and with their lips still touching, she said, "Percy, I don’t want to hear any words of refusal from you... I said, tonight, I want to sleep with you!"

— Classmate, I don’t want to hear you say you don’t like me... Even if it’s true, I don’t want to hear it.

Six years ago, she had said such tender, sentimental words in a seemingly domineering tone, and just like now, she had tiptoed up and stolen his first kiss when he least expected it.

Back then, they were both just inexperienced young boys and girls, and at the moment their lips collided, there was not only astonishment but also the trembling of being hit by a high-voltage electric current.

Time flies, and though they had each experienced many changes, when such a scene replayed itself, Percy found that he was once again paralyzed, just as he had been that day, unable to move.

Elijah Smith and Ella Adams, who had stood nearby, were suddenly rendered invisible by Isabel’s startling words and actions.

At the bottom of Percy’s eyes, there was only Isabel, still tipsy, and showing her true nature.

In fact, he had always been defenseless against the arrogant and outspoken Isabel.

Isabel’s lips remained against his, unmoving.

Percy grabbed Isabel’s hand, applying a little pressure. It took him some time to regain his composure. He held her waist and pulled her slightly away from his embrace, still gazing at her face. Then he spoke to Elijah Smith, who stood not far behind her, "Elijah, could you please take Ella back to Starhaven University? I’ll take care of Isabel."

Percy’s tone was even, but it carried a natural air of command.
