Chapter 318: Chapter 330: Life and Death Hang in the Balance (8)
As Isabel spoke, she clung to Percy Stanton’s body. She was much shorter than Percy, wearing mid-heels but reaching only just up to his chest. She rubbed her face against Percy’s sturdy chest and muttered discontentedly, "Why are you being so fierce... It’s not like you’re good at being fierce to people..."
Her voice was soft and delicate, with a whiny tone that sounded like she was being playful.
Elijah Smith didn’t know the relationship between Isabel and Percy. Seeing Isabel clinging to Percy like that, he reached out his hand awkwardly, wanting to pull her out of Percy’s arms: "Isabel, come out!"
However, Isabel raised her hand and hugged Percy’s waist tighter. She desperately burrowed deeper into Percy’s embrace, shaking her head like a rattle drum, pursing her lips and murmuring, "I don’t want to come out, I really don’t want to!"
After saying that, Isabel looked up at Percy, with a coquettish tone, and said, "Can you tell him not to pull me? It hurts!"
Isabel had never been so flirtatious with Percy before, and his heart instantly melted. He heard her words, immediately raised his hand, grabbed Elijah’s arm, and pulled it away from Isabel’s arm. He spoke to Elijah in a lenient tone, "It’s alright."
Once free, Isabel turned to Percy with a bright, toothy smile.
Her smile had a bit of childishness, innocent and beautiful.
Percy was slightly stunned, and his gaze fixated for a moment. An indescribable impulse surged in his body, and he couldn’t help but grip Isabel’s waist tightly.
Isabel calmed down in Percy’s embrace for no more than three seconds, and then began to fidget restlessly. She raised her hand and pushed Percy forcefully: "Let go, let go of me..."
The good mood that Percy was in instantly turned gloomy. He wished he could slap Isabel unconscious so that she would be quiet and not annoying. However, before he could scold her, she suddenly retched into his embrace.
Upon hearing this sound, a bad feeling arose in Percy’s heart. He subconsciously pulled Isabel away from him quickly, but it was still one step too slow.
Isabel had already vomited all over his chest, and the pungent smell of alcohol immediately entered his nostrils.
Percy glanced at his soiled chest, unable to bear it, and averted his gaze. He shook his hand, pushed Isabel into Elijah’s arms, then took off his coat while shaking his hand and glared fiercely at Isabel.
As Isabel nestled in Elijah’s arms, she looked at Percy with an innocent smile.
Percy was so angry that he wanted to storm off. At this time, the elevator reached the eighteenth floor. As soon as the elevator door opened, Percy grabbed Isabel’s hand and dragged her out of the elevator. He walked directly to the door of her apartment, took the key from her pocket, and shakily opened the door. He kicked the door open, dragged Isabel in with him, and said to Ella Adams who was behind him with a trembling voice, "Go, go to my place and bring some hangover soup!" He then threw his mobile phone to Elijah and said, "Call someone named Doctor Daniel in there, and ask him to come over now to check if drinking alcohol has affected her health!"
After finishing, Percy dragged Isabel to the bathroom.
As they approached the bathroom door, Isabel grabbed the door and shook her head, shouting, "Let me go, let me go!"
Percy felt an urge to strangle Isabel right then. He took a couple of deep breaths to steady his emotions, forcibly opened her hand, and dragged her into the bathroom. He then threw her into the bathtub, adjusted the water temperature, and turned the shower head faucet to the maximum. Immediately, gushing water fell onto Isabel.
