Isabel Smith saw the familiar, not-too-expensive car come to a halt, and the car door was pushed open. Percy Stanton, wearing a black trench coat, stepped out from the driver’s seat. Immediately after, the passenger seat door was also opened, and a girl wearing a red short leather jacket came out.

Because the distance was a bit far, under the dim, hazy street light, Isabel could not see the girl’s appearance clearly. However, just by her figure alone, the girl looked perfect, with long flowing hair. She wore a white scarf decorated with balls, hopping and skipping along until she reached Percy’s side. She raised her hand and grabbed Percy’s wrist, pulling him to walk with her into an alleyway by the roadside.

Elijah Smith had just started talking when Isabel suddenly interrupted him, "Stop the car!"

Elijah was startled and thought Isabel was angry with him, so he said with a smile, "Come on, Isabel, I was just joking. You’re very beautiful, the most beautiful in the world, loved by everyone, and flowers bloom when they see you..."

Isabel raised her hand and fiercely slammed Elijah’s head, pointing to a parking space by the roadside and saying, "When I say stop the car, just stop the car! Why do you always have to talk so much nonsense!"

She was running so fast that her high heels fell to the ground. She didn’t have time to put them back on, so she just continued to run forward, stumbling and staggering on one high and one low foot. Feeling bothered by the one shoe she was wearing, she finally kicked off the other one and continued running barefoot.

"Damn! What the hell is she doing?" Elijah muttered to himself as he parked the car haphazardly and hurriedly got out. While locking the car door, he shouted at Isabel’s retreating figure, "Hey, stop right there!"

Isabel completely ignored Elijah’s shout and quickly disappeared into the alleyway.

Elijah became so frustrated that he stomped his foot in place a couple of times, then hurriedly went after her without a second thought. As he was chasing after her, he saw Isabel’s shoes and quickly bent down to pick them up. He almost stumbled and fell due to the speed at which he was going.

Elijah found Isabel’s other shoe, which had been kicked under a car, and straightened up to catch up with her in the alleyway in just a few steps.

Isabel, without her shoes on, didn’t run very fast, so Elijah easily caught up with her once he entered the alleyway.

"Are you sick, Isabel? What are you doing running around barefoot?" Elijah said to Isabel, but she didn’t pay him any attention and continued running forward.

Elijah was much taller than Isabel, and he had long arms and legs. So, as Isabel was running, Elijah reached out and grabbed her arm, bringing her in front of him in one swift motion. As they ran, Elijah was slightly out of breath. He glared at Isabel and angrily yelled, "Isabel, what the hell is wrong with you?"
