Chapter 302: Chapter 314: Unexpected Encounter at the Horse Field (16)
In this world, no one hoped more than her for Elijah Smith to have a good life, to be motivated, and to shine brightly. She always thought she wouldn’t have any hope to transform Elijah Smith in her entire life. However, now, Elijah Smith unexpectedly made such a huge change.
Isabel Smith didn’t say anything but silently drank the not-so-delicious chicken soup cooked by Elijah Smith.
It wasn’t until Percy Stanton came back with the items that Benjamin Butler left.
Isabel Smith pointed to the food box on the table and said, "You should eat something."
Percy glanced at the food box, put the things he bought next to Isabel’s bed, took away Isabel’s rice bowl after she finished eating, flattened the bed, and then sat back at the table to eat.
The atmosphere in the room with just Percy and Isabel was far less lively than when the female nurse and Benjamin Butler were there.
Because she knew about Elijah’s sudden change, Isabel Smith felt excited lying in bed. Percy ate elegantly, and Isabel unintentionally looked up to see Percy eating in silence. She had long known that Percy Stanton was a breathtakingly handsome man, but she never thought that a man, just with a simple table and a food box, could exude such an aristocratic presence. The sunlight outside the window shone brightly on his shoulders, illuminating his crumpled white shirt with a dazzling golden light, like a carefully depicted close-up shot in a movie, so breathtakingly beautiful that Isabel couldn’t help but get lost in the sight.
Percy’s eating speed was not slow because his manners were unhurried and composed, not causing a sense of urgency.
After Percy finished eating, he took the food box to the nurse’s private bathroom to clean it up.
It was only then that Isabel Smith came to her senses, hearing the sound of water in the bathroom. She noticed the shopping bag on the bed and grabbed it, only then remembering that she needed to use the restroom.
Her back injury was somewhat severe, and she felt pain with even the slightest movement. Isabel tried several times to get up from the hospital bed, but each time she got up a little bit, she broke out in a cold sweat and had no choice but to lie back down.
When Percy came out of the restroom, he saw Isabel supporting herself on the bed and attempting to bend down. He frowned and quickly walked forward a few steps, placing the cleaned food box on the table. In his urgency, Percy’s tone of reprimand towards Isabel was like scolding Raymond Thompson, heavy and urgent: "Isabel Smith, what are you doing? The doctor said you can’t move around casually! You’re not a child, can’t you understand what the doctor said?"
Isabel Smith hadn’t been reprimanded like this for many years. When she heard Percy’s voice, she was stunned for a moment, then looked up at him, pouting, and said, "I need to use the restroom."
Percy took a deep breath, suppressing his concern, and reached out to lift the quilt. He carefully supported Isabel’s buttocks, asking "Does it hurt?" while helping her stand up.
Then he hugged Isabel’s legs, letting the upper half of her body lean straight on him, and carried her all the way to the restroom.
Percy kicked open the door and carried Isabel to the toilet. He carefully put her down on the ground, bent down and still let Isabel put the weight of her upper body on him. Then he raised his hand, helping Isabel remove her hospital gown.
Isabel shyly lowered her head and grasped Percy’s shoulder a little harder.
Man’s body was tense, his lips pressed together but not speaking, only carefully helping her until she was seated on the toilet.
