Chapter 295: Chapter 307: Unexpected Encounter at the Horse Field (9)

At 3:30 am, the doctors summoned by Percy Stanton all left one after another.

Before Thomas Quincy left, he specifically instructed the hospital’s doctor on what to pay attention to when Isabel Smith wakes up.

Percy sent Thomas out of the Infirmary door and watched him leave before returning to the room.

The room was quiet, except for Isabel, now there was only him left.

He closed the door, stood at the entrance, and watched Isabel lying on the hospital bed for a while before he stepped forward, walked to the bedside, pulled a chair, and sat down.

Isabel’s quilt wasn’t covered properly, so Percy raised his hand and covered it for her again.

Her hand was on an intravenous drip, and he carefully placed her hand beside the bed into his palm and held it gently.

Under the faint light in the Infirmary, Percy listened to Isabel’s slightly weak breathing and felt a little pang of pain in his heart.

He always felt that he was capable of everything, like summoning wind and rain at will, but today he found that when facing danger and death, he seemed so helpless and powerless.

He really wished that Isabel could recover right now, even if she still didn’t want to be closer to him like before, and was only willing to maintain a cold agreement-based relationship with him, he would be content. He just wanted her to live well.

Whether as a reluctant high-pride goddess, a goddess with mental illness who can blurt out anything, or as a Tomboy who clearly doesn’t want to, but has to pretend she’s very willing.

As long as she is breathing well, walking, eating, and sleeping, he would be content.

Perhaps Percy’s step back played a role, and Isabel woke up in the early morning the second day.

When Percy saw Isabel open her eyes, his first words were to call her name: "Isabel?"

Isabel seemed not to have heard, and closed her eyes again with tiredness.

Quickly, Percy pressed the call bell, and the doctors rushed over again. They examined Isabel and told Percy that she was temporarily out of danger but was just too tired and had fallen asleep again after waking up. She would probably wake up in the afternoon after getting enough sleep.

Standing at the door, Elijah Smith only let out a long sigh of relief when he heard the doctor’s words inside the house. He then looked at the slightly brightening sky outside the window and turned around to walk to the staircase.

...

When Elijah arrived at the Smith Family, Mrs. Smith was sleeping, Sebastian Smith and Carla Osbert were both in the hospital accompanying Evelyn Osbert, and it was especially quiet at the Homestead.

There were two servants who had woken up and were picking fresh flowers in the yard.

When the servant saw Elijah return with fresh flowers, they hailed, "Young Master."

Elijah was driving Percy’s car. He parked the car in the yard, nodded to the servants, and went straight into the house.

He first went upstairs to take a bath, changed into clean and refreshing clothes, then went downstairs and went directly to the kitchen.

Elijah rummaged through the refrigerator for half a day, then took out a bunch of fresh vegetables and a white strip chicken, took out his mobile phone and searched on Google for a while, and then started to wash the green vegetables and chop the chicken in the kitchen.

The housekeeper was the first to wake up. When she went to the Bath Room to wash up, she heard the clanging sound from the kitchen. Thinking that a servant was already awake and preparing breakfast, she went straight to brush her teeth. When she came out of the Bath Room, the housekeeper’s wife looked curiously at the kitchen and then exclaimed, "Young Master?"

With a knife in one hand, Elijah was about to chop the white strip chicken on the cutting board. Suddenly, he heard someone calling him, turned his head to see the housekeeper’s wife with her mouth open looking at him, and then looked down at himself before turning around and chopping the chicken harshly.
