Chapter 275: Chapter 287: The Repeated Confessions (24)

His expression was very calm and indifferent, as if what had just happened when she bumped into him was completely unrelated to him.

In the past, he wouldn’t have treated her like this. She had many times accidentally almost fallen, but each time he quickly helped her, each time she was just a false alarm. But he would still lower his head and ask her, "Are you all right?"

At that time, she didn’t have much feeling about it. She thought it was just a natural question to ask. But now, he has left without saying a word, and she finds her heart is blocked like something, making her feel extremely uncomfortable and oppressed.

Although he had been treating her with such coldness all these days, she didn’t feel too much at first. Moreover, at the beginning, she didn’t even think about having too much interaction with him. When she was avoiding him at that time, she lived in fear every day. Later, when she finally got what she wanted, she should have been happy and satisfied. Why were her moods getting worse day by day?

Isabel Smith stood in the restroom, thinking more and more and feeling increasingly restless in her heart.

What on earth was going on with her?

Isabel didn’t come back to her senses until someone else came in to use the restroom. Then she maintained her usual elegant demeanor and walked out like nothing had happened.

When she returned to the Great Hall, she saw Mrs. Smith talking with Percy Stanton. Mrs. Smith called her over from afar, and Isabel walked towards them, putting away her wild thoughts.

"I didn’t expect that today, we would just run into Mr. Stanton here." Mrs. Smith laughed and turned to Isabel, saying.

Isabel sat beside Mrs. Smith, smiled at Percy, but said nothing.

Percy just glanced at Isabel when he heard Mrs. Smith’s words. The moment he caught Isabel’s smile, he coldly lowered his eyes, took a sip of the coffee in his hand, and continued the conversation with Mrs. Smith.

Isabel saw Percy’s cold attitude, and those suppressed confusions stirred up again.

She lowered her eyes and listened to Percy and Mrs. Smith’s conversation without interrupting.

After a while, Mrs. Smith pushed Isabel and said, "Alright, you can discuss these work matters back at the company. Isabel, go with Mr. Stanton to the horse field and have some fun."

Isabel obediently nodded, stood up, and left the lounge with Percy.

Outside the lounge was the horse field, but the path was winding, and the distance was not short. It took the two of them more than ten minutes to walk there.

Percy was walking ahead, and Isabel was following by his side. The whole way, both of them remained silent, not saying a word to each other.

As Isabel walked, her heart became more and more uneasy, tossing and turning, feeling mixed up and as if she was hanging by something, unable to find a footing.

She didn’t quite understand what this feeling in her heart represented, as she had never felt this way in her life before.

To go from the lounge to the horse field, there was a glass door. The waiter at the door was nowhere to be found. Percy walked ahead and gracefully pushed the door open.

There was a time when Isabel and Percy would often walk through doors together. Every time, he would open the door first, and after she passed, he would follow.

In just a few months, it had become a habit. As Isabel saw Percy push the door open, she naturally walked towards it. However, after taking just two steps, Percy suddenly walked out of the glass door and released it. The door quickly closed in front of her.

Isabel stood behind the glass door, watching the man outside not pause a moment, walk down the stairs, and head straight for the horse field.
