Chapter 267: Chapter 279: The Confession that Happened Three Times and Five Times (16)
He fiercely pressed her against his chest as if he wanted to crush her into his flesh and blood.
Having been in a deep sleep, Isabel Smith was awakened by Percy Stanton’s tight embrace. Confused, she softly reminded him, "It hurts ... Percy, you’re hurting me ..."
Isabel’s sudden cry of pain made Percy slightly return to his senses. He lowered his head, looked at her in his arms, but his grip did not loosen at all. Instead, he leaned down and accurately pressed his lips against hers, kissing her intensely.
It seemed like he was determined as he kissed her. He began to kiss her deeply with all his might, kissing her desperately and fiercely. His burning tongue tangled with hers, forcing her to kiss him back unwillingly.
The more he kissed, the more intense it became, until he could finally hear her breathing becoming messy because of their deep kiss. His heart felt slightly more comfortable.
He couldn’t help but loosen the hand holding her waist. Slowly raising his head, he pressed her head against his chest, still embracing her with his other hand.
...
After that night, the relationship between Isabel and Percy truly resembled that between lovers bound by a paper contract, with little communication between them.
During the daytime in the company, there was no change in how Isabel and Percy interacted. They continued attending meetings and meeting with partners as usual.
At night, returning to the apartment, Percy would appear in Isabel’s apartment sporadically. The two rarely communicated and often got straight to the point.
Sometimes they did it once in a night, sometimes two or three times. Afterward, Percy would silently put on his clothes and leave Isabel’s apartment.
Their relationship suddenly became clear and straightforward, exactly what Isabel had initially hoped for in her heart.
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, a month had passed. Autumn in Bellshire was short, and it was already approaching early winter. A few gusts of cold wind blew, making the temperature drop to around ten degrees.
It was in the afternoon after a meeting at the company that Isabel realized she had her period. Unprepared, she borrowed a sanitary napkin from Secretary Emille and left work early to return to her apartment.
Perhaps it was the sudden cold weather, even though she only took a few steps, Isabel was still feeling uncomfortable and even sneezed.
Without having dinner, she returned to her apartment. Her stomach slightly ached, so she went to bed early, covered herself with a quilt, and rested.
Not sure if it was because her immune system was lower during her period, but by eight o’clock, Isabel felt stuffy and a headache. She realized she had caught a cold.
There was no medicine in the apartment, and Isabel had little energy, so she just lay on bed, drowsily falling asleep.
But her sleep was of poor quality, waking up several times intermittently. In the end, Isabel could hardly sleep, so she nestled in her quilt with her eyes closed, resting.
Almost at 11 PM, Isabel heard the door sound. After less than a minute, she saw the bedroom door open, and Percy walked in with half-dry hair.
As Percy raised his hand to take off his coat, Isabel sat up from bed and softly said, "I’m on my period."
Percy stopped halfway through taking off his clothes, then put them back on. He glanced at Isabel without saying a word, turned around, and left.
Soon, only Isabel was left in the bedroom. She sat dazed on the bed, feeling as if Percy’s visit just now had been an illusion.
Isabel sat there in a daze for a long time before she remembered the sudden pain from her menstrual cramps.
The pain caused her to lose all her strength, and she lay back down in bed, as if her lower abdomen was rebelling against her.
