Chapter 254: Chapter 266: The Repeated Confessions (3)

Percy Stanton didn’t make a sound, his gaze first slowly fell onto Secretary Emille, his look as cold as ice, causing Secretary Emille to step back behind Isabel Smith obediently.

Only then did Percy Stanton leisurely meet Isabel’s eyes, his expression apathetic. After approximately half a minute, he finally spoke nonchalantly, "If you have something to do, go ahead and get on with it. We can talk afterward."

"Alright, I’ll find you later." Isabel smiled at Percy then turned around to enter her office, with Secretary Emille following.

Percy kept staring at the door of Isabel’s office until it was fully closed. He was still standing in the same spot, not going anywhere.

Percy’s gaze was elusive, somewhat revealing his intentions. But those who were adept at reading people could clearly see that Percy was not in a very good mood at that moment.

There were numerous employees of Department A going back and forth carrying their documents. When passing by Percy, they would purposely walk faster, keeping a wide berth just in case they might accidentally infuriate the handsome Vice General Manager. Fortunately, Percy only stood there for fifteen minutes before he went back to his office, allowing the employees who were working outside heave a sigh of relief. Then they resumed working while discreetly discussing the anticipated finale of the popular K-drama "My Love from the Star" airing tonight.

Percy’s mood was indeed very sour.

To be precise, it had been bad ever since his unsuccessful confession to Isabel last week.

Isabel had been avoiding him, although she did it subtly. But how could someone as perceptive as him not notice?

Every time he would try to talk to her privately, she would pretend to be very busy, either involving Secretary Emille with work or claiming that Mrs. Smith needed to talk to her.

In the past, before he confessed his feelings, she would naturally discuss work-related things with him, and they would even have meals together in the restaurant under the Smith Corporation building.

But now, she never gives him any alone time except when there are other people around.

Percy felt that the relationship between him and Isabel had never been this bad.

Percy stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in his office, slowly lighting a cigarette. As he watched the congested streets filled with cars below him, his mood became increasingly heavy.

At this time, an employee from Department A came in to deliver documents to Percy. After knocking on the door and entering, he handed a contract for Percy to sign and said, "Vice President Campbell, this document needs your signature."

Since they were all drafted by him and there wouldn’t be any issues, Percy didn’t even glance at the document before picking up a pen and quickly signing his name.

Perhaps because of his bad mood, he accidentally omitted one dot from the character ’Yang’ in his signature.

The employee watching him sign from the side gently reminded him, "Sir, you missed a dot."

Percy immediately raised his hand and aggressively threw the document at the employee, saying in a particularly irritated tone, "I’m writing in cursive, and in cursive you save what can be saved. You don’t even understand this, what are you doing working at Smith Corporation?"

The employee lowered his head after being scolded by Percy, not even daring to breathe loudly. He could only respond with a timid "I’m sorry, Vice President Campbell," before hastily leaving the room with the document.

The office quieted down suddenly. Percy, in a fit of temper, yanked at his own tie, picked up the phone on his table, and asked, "Has Secretary Emille left CEO Smith’s office yet?"

The sound of the pleasant secretary on the other end quickly responded, "Vice President Campbell, Secretary Emille just left with CEO Smith."
