The point was not the excuse, but the woman’s attitude and expression, that made her seem so self-righteous.

Isabel Smith thought the man would be angry with his girlfriend for making a scene, but surprisingly, in the next second, he raised his hand, put it around the woman’s shoulder, and began to speak softly to appease her.

As for the woman, she showed no signs of backing down, still turning her head away and putting on an air of indifference towards the man. Yet the man continued to call her "Rosie" affectionately, and they entered the tea restaurant together.

Isabel found their way of getting along quite interesting, as not many men in this world would indulge and cherish women in such a way. She couldn’t help but curl the corner of her lips and lower her head to laugh quietly.

"What are you laughing at?"

Isabel Smith suddenly turned her head and saw Percy Stanton, who had already parked the car and walked over. She still had the trace of a smile on her lips, which slowly faded as she shook her head at him.

Percy didn’t ask any further and simply walked towards the tea restaurant, giving his name.

Miss Waitress checked the record and led Percy and Isabel to an elegant private room on the second floor of the restaurant.

Miss Waitress gently knocked on the door of the room, waiting for a clear and polite male voice from inside to say "come in" before she pushed open the door. She then stepped aside, respectfully said to Percy and Isabel, "Sir, Miss, please come in."

Percy slightly nodded to the waitress and entered the room first.

Isabel followed closely behind and stepped into the room. Before she even had a chance to sit down, she saw the familiar couple sitting across from her and froze in surprise.

She never would have guessed that the quarreling couple from downstairs were her and Percy’s appointments for the day.

"Mr. Stanton, long time no see." Edward Shaw immediately let go of Lily Adams, who was in his arms, and quickly stood up when he saw Percy and Isabel enter.

Lily Adams, who originally had a displeased look on her face, immediately turned into a warm smile when she saw Percy and Isabel, and also followed Edward Shaw in standing up.

"Long time no see, Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Shaw." Percy reached out and shook hands with Edward, then greeted Lily, who was standing beside Edward.

Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Shaw?

So the seemingly young couple was actually already married?

Isabel was slightly surprised in her heart.

The two men shook hands and immediately released their grip. Percy then turned to face Edward and introduced Isabel: "This is the General Manager of Smith Corporation’s Business Department A, Isabel Smith."

"Hello, Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Shaw. Nice to meet you for the first time. I will appreciate your guidance," Isabel said politely, smiling and addressing Edward Shaw and Lily Adams in the same way Percy had done earlier.

Perhaps because Isabel was a woman, Edward did not extend his hand to shake hers. Instead, Lily shook Isabel’s hand, her tone exceptionally gentle as she greeted, "Miss Smith, hello."

After the four of them sat down, the waitress brought them several thick, gold-rimmed menus.

They only glanced through them symbolically, and Edward, who often came here, looked up and named a few dishes.

Miss Waitress collected the menus, smiled and said, "Please wait a moment," before leaving the room. Soon, several waiters came in, placing the dishes that Edward had ordered one by one on the table. The waiters then set the utensils, courteously said "please enjoy" and left the room, thoughtfully closing the door behind them.

Edward picked up the kettle of hot water that the waiter had prepared, carefully poured it into the purple clay pot. The black tea inside immediately released a delicate fragrance. He skillfully lifted the pot and poured a cup of tea for Percy, saying, "Mr. Stanton, I have been acquainted with you for a long time and have always wanted to cooperate with you. Now I’m eager for the opportunity."
